3 Years With Aer Travel Pack: The Ultimate Carry-on Backpack – Review

I've always wanted to do a backpackvideo because that's something all the popular youtubers are doing right? Now, Iwas sitting here in Prague in the quarantine and thinking what contentwould go well with my never trending videos on this photography channel and Ithought well, now when nobody is going outside it can be a good idea to dobackpack video.

Before I was going outside and asking people if they wantto know what is in my backpack and which one do I use.

But they just didn't care.

Now, the situation has changed since I have like seven thousand twentysubscribers, I have like seven thousand nineteen more people than I had beforeto tell about my back.

Anyways, maybe you're also in the market for a great backpackmaybe you also love the AER backpacks and wonder what type and size you shouldget.

So, sit back relax and enjoy the review of my favourite backpack.

So, itall started four years ago as you guessed it, I was in market for backpack.

When I found this project on Kickstarter AER travel pack – the ultimate carry onbackpack and I thought to myself.

I could use some ultimate carry on backpack.

Now, I have actually not backed this project.

I mean, I did initially but then Iwatched some review on the youtubes and when I asked the reviewer he told me hewould actually sell it to me.

So, I think I got it a little sooner than the restof the backers on the Kickstarter.

I got it during the summer 2016 so ithas been three and a half years I have this review unit, which is the firstgeneration of the one they are selling.

So, except a slight redesign and fewactually great additions like, lockable zippers and possibility of hip belt orluggage path through strap they're essentially same.

I mean, I have to say itso this video is still relevant to you.

Anyways what I like most about this bagis the design but not only design in terms of how it looks.

No, I mean seriously.

So, let's first talk about alook it has this minimal design with four side straps which you can use tocarry a tripod or jacket if you want there's also expandable what about thepocket which still looks great even when you do not have water bolted there.

I knowa lot of bags with water bottle pockets which looks quite weird when they areempty.

Now, the main function of the straps is actually to compress thebackpack so everything inside is tight and doesn't travel inside the bag.

This is actually also a great thing for times when you unload the bag at thelocation you arrived at, but then you also still want to use the backpack tocarry fewer items around.

I use it all the time.

There is also a shoecompartment that I use every time I go to gym andafter I finish my workout.

I just pack all the dirty clothes inside thatcompartment.

What is convenient is that the inside is easily washable but what Ilove most is the secret quick access pocket for my keysheadphones passport or wallet.

Other than that the back has threecompartments the first one for the laptop which has a separated section ifyou want to fixate your laptop or whatever you put there.

I use it usuallywhen I also load it with some documents or something.

The main compartment has aclamshell opening for easy packing and extra mesh pocket.

I think the best wayto use it is to use packing cubes which I don't do and I still pack my thingsjust fine.

The front compartment can easily fit an iPad or small book.

It hasa zip pocket and few extra pockets for smaller items.

Now, when I was buying myfirst backpack I was researching what size do I actually want I didn't quiteunderstand the volume size and liters so I'm not gonna bother you with that.

WhatI actually can fit in the bag it's my laptop clothes for like five-day-longtrip or gym clothes with the rest for like two to three day long trip.

Withunderwear pyjamas and so on.

What I don't think this bag is good for is to buy itfor the purpose of leaving the house for the work with just your notebook iPadbook water bottle and extra few clothes.

That is something this bag is a littletoo big for.

You would have to have it compressed all the time.

What I would getfor that and actually what I'm thinking about getting would be the tech pack – Iwould say it is exactly the right size forthis kind of use.

When I however used this backpack when going to work is whenI continue to the gym after the work.

You can fit everything you need with theshoes and the gym clothes now going to the trips that are longer than one weekor for little short trips but with your gym clothes or running clothes youprobably not going to fit everything in the back.

I mean of course it depends onwhat you take with you but with my experience I usually have to take anextra gym bag with me.

What I'm really seriously thinking about getting is theCapsule pack max which has extra 7 L volume.

I think it wouldactually be perfect for this kind of use.

I can see myself using it for tripslonger than week and when we talk about minimalism traveling I can even imaginemonths.

I have had this backpack for almost four years and I have to say thequality is superb.

The only dimensions I can find on the back are scratches onthe zipper and side straps from bumping into the walls.

So, overall I'm verysatisfied with the quality and the materials.

I can only recommend thisbackpack.
