[Music] hey guys I'm headed to the beautiful city of Boca today I was just in Osaka so I hopped on the bullet train that's about a two and a half hour ride to get there you guys probably know that the bullet trains are super pricey so let me give you a huge tip for saving money if you are coming to Japan if you are living in a country outside of Japan you're eligible for the Japan Rail Pass also known as the junior pass what this gives you is the ability to write as many trains as you like during the valid time period including bullet trains in some cases so you can save so much money if you are planning on going to several different cities during your visit I will link their website down below so check it out there's several different passes available depending on which cities you want to visit so make sure you look through all the details carefully before you purchase one but you are able to purchase them online now which is awesome because you couldn't do that before anyways I will welcome to my little business hotel room here in Fukuoka for the night I'm gonna head to bed pretty early because tomorrow morning I'm gonna meet Makayla and we're gonna go on a little tour of the city I can't wait to see her and I can't wait to see more of Colchis city so I look say good night here guys and I'll see you in the morning bye for now hey guys good morning morning he met up with mckaela and we're currently waiting outside my hotel because a taxi is coming to pick us up we're going on a JTB a taxi tour of the area today they're gonna show for us around to some famous spots where are we going we're going up to kitakyushu which is part of Fukuoka Prefecture but kitakyushu and Fukuoka cities are like entirely different vibes entirely different parts of the prefecture and tomorrow we're gonna hang out around the city bars cool all right guys let's go find our taxi hi first box today is about an hour away from our starting point this entire tour is going to be about six hours long but it's cool because we can kind of just chill in the taxi and not have to worry about like figuring out the trains and stuff so I feel like these taxi tours would be a really good option if you're the kind of person that's like a little nervous about taking public transport in Japan which I was for like several years because it's pretty scary if you don't speak the language or it's your first time here yeah we're just gonna chill the taxi and we'll see you guys at our first stop got amazing weather today it's gorgeous so sunny so yeah it should be really fun we stopped number one yeah I love these roadside stop so you guys know that it's so fun looking at all the different Oh Miyagi they have in the area I think I wonder what their flavor of ice cream is Oh new come on but with shelves and it's almost cherry blossom season so lots of pink snacks everywhere I like that they have like the supermarket sticker on it as if you're buying it it's in season now we work so real I know we're getting these we're sweating fish egg bath we're gonna look beautiful tonight what have you found chugs again oh I love Jessica it's like where you put the dried fish over the rice Olivia dashi to make thicker like porridge yeah comes in lots of different flavors strawberry is stuffed with ice so we stopped at this parking area because there's actually a really nice viewpoint of the bridge but with the Olympics coming up so many locations in Japan are under construction and unfortunately the view spot is under construction so we can't go down there but we're gonna hop back in the taxi and actually drive over the bridge so we should get some nice views from the bridge itself so that's where the view point is unfortunately we can't get there but we still have a decent view of the bridge from over here actually coolican bridge it's just like the ones that we saw in the she went I mean Kaito cycling route [Music] so this suspension bridge actually connects Kyushu Island with home Shu the main island of Japan very cool it's a really short distance actually we've just made stop two of our taxi tour and we're going to cut a tow fish market which is the largest fish market in this whole area it's a big touristy spa there's lots of people here yeah actually the holiday today so it's probably gonna be a little more busy than usual but yeah we're right on the water this area is so pretty you guys we're just about to enter the market and there's a gigantic fugu statue right inside the main door that was a little smile I am very excited for it so lots of the stalls are selling the same thing lots of sushi lots of fugu because they're in Yamaguchi Prefecture right now and they're famous for their fugu but of tempura and fried foods decision I know I definitely want some day you thought up there oniy looks good but I'm not a douche matter he's good at this brush and it should be fresh so once you finish choosing your sushi you bring it up to the cashier bowl and pay for it there yeah it's pretty common for people to buy their fish in the market and then because it's kind of dark and stuffy in there they come out and they have like a picnic here how gorgeous is this [Music] I've heard that food was really chewy and doesn't have much flavor it's kind of similar to Thai well yeah I love Thai mcgerr like for me doesn't actually stand out as like a particular it has a very light taste but I guess that that makes it a nice thing to have in compliment to like more stronger tasting sushi makes sense whereas like if you had too much salmon it might be too like oily or if you had too much old total would be too oily and like it's a nice one to have in combination with a bunch of other ones yeah it's definitely light and it's chewy like I said so this was the second most popular item out of the shop the fatty tuna you can see the streaks of fat here we go deck mozz so eating that after the food in texture so because it is more oily it breaks apart easier when you chew it and it just falls apart in your mouth whereas the fugu it was a lot leaner they're both very very different but they're both really good oh dear the local ice cream flavor here is you guessed it sea urchin this one's ocean flavor I don't know which is worse I feel like it's worth it to come here just for all the cute fugu tattoos and lanterns look at the oh jesus all globalelin we found a gelato shop and they had some dairy free options but I got raspberry and blood orange and Michaela God I got bodhichitta and sesame yeah perfect snowing up where I am summer down here this is a job in Japan is the difference in weather really that yeah like it's actually snowing right now in the mercury eating gelato yeah so the next stop on our taxi tour is the con mon pedestrian tunnel this is really cool underwater tunnel that connects where we are now back with Kyushu right yeah yeah yeah you can walk under underground under the water in this tunnel and get back to Kyushu Island but I want to take you guys across the road because there's a really cool little display across the road that you can't miss if you do come here so let's go see it this location is actually where the Battle of Genji and Haken took place battle of denote its called and these statues here are depicting the two leaders and apparently this is where the KK clan was defeated and their leader Justin and committed suicide so it's a very symbolic place in Japanese history heading down to the underwater tunnel pressing over back to Kyushu it costs a whopping zero and if you're walking and 20 yen if you have a scooter or a bicycle I wonder how far underground it is it's gone down like 8 floors terrifying this doesn't look like a tunnel so the part which we are passing under is about 800 meters long underwater that's right here boobs are cute you're just saying we wish it had a glass see like a fool about yeah this is really cool so this is the borderline of Yamaguchi and Coca Prefecture so if we stand right here and we're back in Fuuka was a really cute spot for a photo on the other side of the tunnel you can get the torii gate and the amazing looking bridge back to the taxi and on to our last location after the day we're going to mojiko retro I think I've been there before if it's the place that I remembering I ended up there quite late at night time so I've never seen it in the day we've made it to our last stop of the day this is mojiko retro why is it called retro to know why I think it's because as a port it took a lot of foreign influence like back when Japan first opened up to like the world yeah other countries and it has a very like European feel there's a lot of it does have like yeah the architecture is like not Japanese on all influenced by the outsider okay so European Earl Grey his chocolate team something I've never seen before a matcha face pot I used to put much on my skin all the time actually it's it really helped with acne that would probably be really nice what is it Sakura South Korea the instructions say yeah you add why'd you put it in the fridge and then it uses with like fruit bits inside is crews and then you mix it with sparkling water you've got sent urea oh my god I love it Ovi games great this is pretty legit I love it look cool shop I was so impressed by that little souvenir shop they have the coolest stuff michaela found these which are probably the best find of the day I can't wait to try them out at home I can't imagine anything being more Sharla chocolate flavored to you that's interesting can't say I've ever had a banana tea sounds good so I think the coolest thing we found in the shop are probably the Sakura cocktail mixes all you have to do is add your own me home Shu Japanese sake to it and it's got like cinnamon and sugar and some kind of herbs maybe Sakura leaves Sakura petals it's gonna be so good you know some fruit that I can't wait to try it that should be really good and then I also got these oh Jessica I love which has okay I don't think I've ever shown it to you guys in a video before but we mentioned it earlier it's bola rice and you add this tea powder and it's usually got some kind of seaweed or other like savory flavors in it it's like a salty rice porridge which Kato Caillou yeah I'll make it in a vlog and show you guys but it's definitely something you should try if you're in Japan and finally I found this green tea with Sakura leaves inside five tea bags for three dollars so it's pretty pricey but they wrap it up really cute so stuff like this would make a really good souvenir if you're in the area I need some souvenirs for your family so another feature of this taxi too is even if you don't speak Japanese they have a translation service could you please ask her if she could stop at a convenience store on the way to the hotel okay yes she does so yeah no worries if you don't speak Japanese right guys that finishes our tour for the day we're heading back to the hotel now so the taxi driver will come and pick you up at your hotel anytime between 7 a.
m.
and 11 a.
m.
you can choose the time they pick you up honestly like the back of this car is super spacious yeah it's been nice to have like the privacy of traveling with just your friend yeah it's also like you have lots of space yeah it's been really nice and it's basically like a bus tour without all the other people really good definitely consider it as an option for your Japan trip I will have all the information down below thanks so much for watching guys go check out Mikayla's channel we filmed a little video over there doing some would you rather questions Japan edition I will link her down below and I'll see you guys again soon [Music].
