[Music] Bangkok's full name translates to the City of Angels the great city the residents of the Emerald Buddha the impregnable city of God Indra the grand capital the world endowed with nine precious gems the happy city abounding in an enormous royal palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated God a city given by Indra and built by Vishnu Gunn [Music] [Music] so we're in Bangkok and we're gonna explore as much as we can in two days and that is the grand palace what's for cow is a vast compound that includes the former residence of the time honor the grand palace here lived the first kings of the Chakri dynasty in 1767 the Bernese destroyed the ancient capital of aut yeah the King died and his son Thaksin escaped so for 15 years he alongside general Phong Duong took back large part of the country from the Burmese but then he was declared insane and executed by his former friend the general on April 7th so the general took up the new position of King and started the Chakri dynasty still in power today [Music] so the temple is ridiculously filled with toys so as you can which our plan original plan was to do that but the bus came in late was to get here at 8:30 a.
m.
when it opened it's still gonna be full of tourists but maybe a little less so hopefully anyway they just do some woman asked to take a picture you want a picture of you and your husband and no no you [Music] all around there are various depictions of spirits bird have human monkeys elephants the must of housing are these guardian demons and Hindu and Buddhist texts these spirits have a dual personality either inoffensive often associated with the woods and mountains but also a darker version associated with a ghost that devours travelers so back there is the small honestly tiny but it is built out of a jade stone and a fun side note is that they changed their little clothes of the Buddha like every lake festival whatever there's like an important event going on no pictures are allowed though so you guys are just gonna come and have to see it for yourself so our last stop I don't know how much more I can take since I'm all sweaty and gross is going to visit the reclining Buddha built by Rama the third and it shows Buddha passing on to Nirvana so death is huge and gorgeous and apparently makes you be like one of these so where you just keep it keep looking at it so let's go see [Music] [Music] what foe is the oldest temple in Bangkok in fact it was founded when the Kingdom of Thailand was still based in a UTI so the temple is actually way on through the Bangkok in 1832 under the command of round at the third the temple actually went to an expansion to accommodate Thailand's first University so coming into the beautiful what full cost 200 bucks and a very popular thing people do is they come here to also get a Thai massage for 480 back I'm probably not going to do this because I've already had so many massages so but if you only have one day in Bangkok I really recommend it so now we're heading to an amulet market where I'm probably going to lose all my money but I am okay with that [Music] so to start off the night we're walking in combs Road which used to be a backpacker Haven now there's a little bit of all type of tourists locals bars food hot dive mango sticky rice so I got some yummy pad thai for 30 baht so really cheap and also I think this is the best juice I've ever drink it drink it and I drink a lot of juice it's a really nice way to get around places here is taking the SkyTrain and right now we're going to take the sketchy what [Music] okay so right now I'm in Wat Arun which is crossing the river near Wat Pho and once again we cover up and everything but it was built in like 1700s Wat Arun is a temple venerated by all Thais otherwise known as the temple of the dawn this sacred site sits alongside the mighty shall prior River and it is one of the most studying religious structures of this world the name was given when Thaksin came upon the temple at dawn with his fleet to fight the invading burmese the temple derives its name from the Hindu god I do know often personified as the radiations of the Rising Sun the design of the temple is in Khmer style the central towers symbolizes Mount Meru of Hindu cosmology the home of the gods and considered to be the center of all physical and spiritual universes once Arun is also the final stop in Thailand's royal Bart procession it is a ceremony of both religious and royal significance which has been taking place for nearly seven hundred years so this is what you gotta just like when you come during monsoon season [Music] okay so make sure you guys bring these things wherever you are because they're probably gonna be really overpriced on the side of the road when it starts raining they're really not that heavy then we head into one of the malls not so much to do some shopping but to check out how huge they are before heading back to see Chao Phraya River the River of Kings says around the first Volvic the lifeblood of Bangkok Chao Praya is intertwined with the city try the like Venice with all the canals around 50, 000 people still use ferries to get around each day so make sure to take some boats and look at the floating markets [Music] so to finish the day it's around five o'clock and we're in the jim thompson museum but it is amazing I mean they have so much history everywhere I mean there was a Buddha that was a thousand years old it is amazing and there's so much art so basically this guy was an American he came to Thailand he fell in love with Thailand he divorced his wife because his wife didn't want to move to Thailand but it's just amazing so this is the end of the video on Bangkok and yes I'm clearly not in Bangkok anymore I'm actually back home in quarantine that's why I have a lot of extra time on my hands so I curled my hair and I got all pretty for this just for this so at the end of the video I definitely got very excited and jumbled and everything when talking about that Jim Thompson house I was just super excited it was really cool in one of my favorite places to visit in all of Thailand if you get a chance to go please do if things clear up everything in the world we'll see how it goes the city itself is amazing I like the name says it all literally there was a lot of other cool things that I never got to do in Bangkok such as going to this huge market that supposedly has like over 800 stalls so I spent two days in Bangkok which I got to hit all the big sites which I was pretty happy about I learned a lot of history really cool um other things to see in Thailand I mean them I went to I Utah Shang my to see the elephants PI I'll leave all the links in the description below the spanish and english version so if you liked the video please give it a thumbs up subscribe and move on to your next video which hopefully just happens to be one of mine [Music].
