Changing My Life: Being a Writer & Travel Vlogger + Stutter

Hello, my name's Jim Driver and welcometo the first-ever video in my new YouTube channel.

What's this new YouTube channel going to be all about I hear you asking.

Well, it's gonna be about me Which may not sound particularly interesting but I have had a very eventful life.

I've recently reached the age of 65 years old, which is quite old I think you'll find, and I'm not going to retire because people like me who workfor themselves and just do what we want to do don't retire.

I want to change what I've been up to for the last 47 years of my working life, which is I've been putting on band gigs and I've been an agent for acts.

Now, that may sound very glamorous, working with show business stars and all that sort of thing but, when you've been doing the same thing for 47 years with roughly the same people, then you do tend to get a bit jaded, let me tell you… So, what do I want to do if I'm not going to do music? Well, part of it is I want to do YouTube videos like this and, hopefully, make them interesting and entertaining.

Because that's the thing, a YouTube videoreally has to be entertaining.

By the way, it might be worth pointingout here that if you hadn't already noticed I do have a slight… a slight, aslight, (See?) a slight stutter, so if things like that get on your nerves you mightbe better off ignoring it.

Don't let it spoil your enjoyment toomuch.

So these videos will be about what I'm going to do when I'm not doing music anymore.

Stuff I've been up to in the past including writing, I will go into that more in a later video, but then there's also travelling, which I want to do a lot more of.

For example, in two weeks — well next week, actually — I'm off to India to search for my guru, so that'll be very good fun, I'm sure.

And also, even though I do try and avoidcliches like the plague, think of my future life as a journey, asan adventure and I want you to join me on that journey.

And, I'm going to be making films about what's happened in my life.

Incidents, interesting, exciting, revealing things from a life in show business, rock-and-roll lifestyle, etc I am well aware that you probably don'tknow who I am.

so, to change that, let's have my life – well, the bare bones of it — in vaguely chronological order, with some great music… All right.
