Dealing With Anxiety + Burnout | How I Recover After 6 Months Of Travel

would have seen was me arriving back in Canada after my long six-month trip in the beginning of February and as we all know a lot has happened since then so I'm gonna address that topic in a whole separate video because apparently here on YouTube if you even say

the word your video maybe demonetized are not shown to as many people so I assume you all know what I am talking about in current events right now but for today's video I wanted to touch on a subject that I don't think I really mentioned a lot as

I was going on my trip and something that I really experienced on a high level in the month of February since getting back and obviously with the world events being what they are right now I think a lot of people can really relate to the feelings of overwhelm

of anxiety uncertainty fear all of those types of things I think we are all in a position that feels pretty shaky right now so I wanted to do a video kind of addressing how to hopefully deal with those feelings in the best way possible in these times and

also a lot of things that I learned from doing these six months of travel where you're dealing with uncertainty every day you're not sure how things are going to go and some hard lessons that I had to learn about prioritizing my health so my very first tip for

you guys for avoiding a burnout and for just lessening anxiety is to take a time out even though this seems like a no-brainer I myself know that so many of my problems could have been avoided and I could have felt so much better if I would have just

taken more time off if I would have just let myself process everything that was going on I would have dealt with so many things so much better because my head would have been clearer I probably wouldn't have gotten sick as much and just in general I wouldn't have

this heavy feeling of always feeling like one more thing one more thing one more thing you're on this hamster wheel of endless things that you have to do or at least think you do and you never actually give yourself time to rest I'm sure a lot of people

are dealing with really intense anxiety and uncertainty because we don't know how things are going to go and of course it's an easy sort of reflex to try and figure out everything all at once to do everything you can all at once and to kind of go into

that panic mode but I really don't think we get our best decision-making skills who and we are in that kind of a state so if you find yourself going into that panic mode like just try and give yourself a time out of whether it's a couple hours or

a whole day if possible and just allow yourself to process everything so you can come back into the situation with a fresh mindset now my second tip to deal with anxiety and burnout is basically the exact opposite of number one which is to create a healthy routine so

even though I would say I'm pretty good at keeping a structure when I'm at home that's why I've been feeling so much better because I've been getting back to the things that I know make me feel good and keep me in a healthy sort of state but when

you're traveling that obviously becomes so much harder because not only are you constantly on the move as I was different time zones so your sleep schedule gets all messed up very different types of food then you would usually be eating and if I could even get in a

workout two to three times a week I was happy but considering the circumstances that probably a lot of us find ourselves in where we're spending a lot of time at home that itself can make people lose any kind of structure in their day because it was their work

that gave them structure in their life but if you are able to implement those positive changes on a consistent sort of basis not only will your health be so much better if that's what you've been focusing on but usually you'll just be so much more productive in everything

that you do in your life so structure is absolutely crucial now the third thing that has really helped me feel better after these six months of travel is to get enough sleep now some people might say that getting a good night's rest is just a part of having

a healthy routine which it is in a sense but I think sleep is one of the things that is so underrated especially in our culture of being constantly busy of drinking so many caffeinated drinks to make it through the day and it kind of just gets thrown around

as something that's not that important our sleep quality is incredibly important when it comes to what our energy levels are like during the day but more importantly for our long-term health and in saying that I actually have a secret weapon that I use to get a good night's

rest when I am at home which is a weighted blanket so if you guys have never heard of a weighted blanket I will briefly explain to you what it is it's exactly what it sounds like where it is a blanket that in this particular case has glass beads

which are in smaller sort of compartments so it is able to distribute the weight evenly all over the blanket but basically this has been a new tool that has been incredibly helpful for people with insomnia with ADHD just any kind of general anxiety that is keeping you from

a priority our health has to be considering it influences basically every facet of our day-to-day life and in this case everybody else so I truly would urge you guys that in this time when a lot of us have time to really go inward and ask some hard questions

to yourself of are you happy with how your life is what kind of changes would you like to make are you really living your life if it was your last day not to get darker anything but I think those are the types of questions that we have to

be asking ourselves now more than ever and prioritizing the time and people and opportunities that we have to really be our authentic selves and to live our life on purpose so I hope you guys enjoyed this video and found it helpful like I said I am feeling so
