Hey friends, welcome back to GrandAdventure! I'm your host Marc Guido, and in this episode we're out in thebeautiful Sonoran Desert about 50 miles west of Phoenix near the town of Tonopah where we're boondocking for a few days on BLM land.
Come along! So if there is a middle of nowhere, weare pretty darned close to it.
We're just a few miles south of I-10 but we are out.
absolutely there is nothing out here.
There's a Love's truck stop about 10miles away at the interchange where we got off the freeway, but there's nothingalong the freeway even for miles in either direction.
But this served a veryimportant purpose for us.
We needed a few days to be able to just slow down, havegood cell service to be able to work, and also spend a few days editing upcomingvideos for you folks, and it served its purpose extremely well.
This is going tobe a short episode because there's not a whole heck of a lot to see out herebesides our camp, but we wanted to share with you this great free boondockingopportunity right off I-10, even if you happen to be traveling through itbetween Phoenix and Los Angeles.
Now, several of you have asked for a tourof the rig that we travel in, so we'll take this opportunity to bring youinside and give you a quick look around our 2016 Evo T2050.
Now what reallyattracted us to this rig is the fact that we have dual opposing slides, whicheven though it's a 26 foot-long trailer from hitch to bumper, it becomesup to 15 feet wide because of these two opposing slides.
We're real happy withthat, gives us lots of space with the dog.
We have a full large U-shaped dinettethat's very comfortable .
kind of this faux bamboo flooring.
Our galley has afull range with an oven, which is kind of unusual in a trailer this size toactually have an oven.
We have a lot of counter space to be able to work with, and really enjoy this island sink that we have in the middle of the trailer.
There's a large entertainment center that separates the sleeping area fromthe living area, where we have a Roku 32- inch television there, and there's one onthe back side that also faces the bedroom area.
Has an RV queen, it is walk-around so we can walk around on each side to be able to make the bed a littlemore effectively.
It's still not easy, there's nothing easy about making a bedin an RV, but it's extremely comfortable.
We have these two sliding wooden doorsto close off, to give privacy to the bedroom area if we have any guestssleeping on the dinette, and again behind these doors is a second televisionfacing those who are laying here in bed if you want to watch a little TV beforeyou fall asleep.
So looking back into the main living area, I'll bring you rightout here and show you the bathroom.
We do have afull glassed-in shower with skylight that's generous.
I'm not a large guy but it's still generous.
Then we have, of course you know, the typical RV vent over the toilet area and a small vanity sink area withmedicine cabinet .
and there I am in the mirror.
So we hope that you've enjoyedcoming around on the inside of Grand Adventure's 2016 Evo T 2050.
So I'm going to apologize right here forany wind noise that the microphone may be picking up.
It is windy as hell outhere.
The trailer absolutely rocked last night.
Things did die down as we got closer to sunrise, but it's starting to pick upagain already today.
We're going to pick up and we're going to move on toPrescott.
I'm hoping we don't have too windy a drive, but hopefully we'll be bringing you some video from the Prescott areaupcoming on Grand Adventure.
The other thing we feel is worth mentioning is in the afternoon, the house flies around here are insane.
I'm really not sure what's prompting that.
There's not any cattle dung on the ground, or anything like that that's going to attract them.
I'm really notquite sure what brings all those flies to this area, and maybe it's a seasonal thing — we don't know.
But they have been unbelievable in the afternoons during our visit.
They disappear in the evenings and they're gone in the mornings, but boy, once that sun starts getting into late morning and early afternoon they come out in droves! But we really hope that you've enjoyed checking out this area around SaddleMountain in Tonopah, Arizona.
