take it from someone who has been doing home office pretty much my entire life it does come with its own set of challenges and while I do appreciate a good day or a good evening of net fixing and snacking I also think that you can really utilize this
time and make the most out of it if you have the luxury to work from home you pretty much have two choices you can either a sort of do something but really all you want to do is just lay around stream all your favorite shows and hope that
this whole situation is over as soon as possible so we can all just go back to normal or be take matters into your own hands sort of become your own Stewie oh map things out for yourself take this time to learn and to flourish this has real potential
to create a momentum that can really get you to where ever you want to be or to whatever you want to achieve it really doesn't matter if you work for yourself or if you work for someone else no matter what your exact situation might be this can genuinely
be a moment for you to set up new rules set up new standards and set up your own home office if you need an initial little inspiration and push then here are three ways on how to be more productive while you're at your home office the big trap
over the home office is to think that you can just lounge around and sort of get something done then it's pretty much it and you're productive and that's gonna be fine if I wouldn't take this serious then I'd probably be wearing sweat pens at least five days out
of the week especially right now and that's just not cute getting dressed in the morning does two things for you first of all it puts you in a productive mindset when you have a routine and you follow in the morning the little tiny steps of getting ready are
almost meditative they just set you up for a great day and getting dressed just makes you carry yourself differently you sit different you move different you approach things different and this can be so much fun the cuz you are now dressing for yourself you do all of this
for yourself you don't do it for your colleagues you don't do it because it is expected from you you can sort of try out an experiment and find new office styles while you're in your home office I like to opt for something that definitely has some sort of
cozy element to it I am wearing white pens for the most part they don't cut in anywhere they are super comfortable they're basically very nice looking sweat pens in a way and then I go for sometimes a sweater especially right now where it's a bit more chilly but
I also like to go for whatever stiff material there is I like shirts that have a very stiff material to them really whatever it is whatever I feel good about that day I love finishing things up with jewelry I always feel as if if I don't wear my
staple pieces I'm not really dressed even though no one sees me I still need this to feel complete in a way to feel ready and productive and set up so I like to up for all of my staple pieces and one of my newest staple pieces is actually
the sponsor of today's video I am incredibly excited to work with Nordgren watches for are really two reasons first of all the design is incredible and it's something that I absolutely fell in love with right away I went for a men's watch because I feel as if this
puts me into instant business mode I wanted something that's heavy and sturdy and it's slightly on the larger side at the same time the color combination still looks light and fresh and is especially great for spring and summer a watch or drew the Reid in general just is
that last step to creating an outfit that's truly you and it truly feels fitting for whatever occasion you're dressing for the second and probably main reason why I was so excited to work with them is because they are a brand that made it their mission to have an
actual impact and by purchasing a watch you are actively being a part in their giving back programs not Green has chosen a few projects that they believe in one of them is for example cool earth or for good just to name two so what you do is you
go ahead you buy a watch and then you can choose which organization you want to support it's not just being put into something but you can actually actively choose what project you'd believe in the most I guess I highly recommend you go ahead and check out all of
the different projects it genuinely is incredible to read through and I just love that you are not just purchasing a piece of jewelry that you're gonna love but you're also participating in something that has a bigger impact so for me that was just such an incredible reason to
be proud of today's sponsor and to be proud of wearing this watch because I know that a part of this watch also means giving back I will have a coat for you which is going to be up on the screen and I will put every additional information that
you might need down in the description box for you so make sure that you go ahead and check that one out next to a productive mindset and caring yourself differently getting dressed in the morning also means that you have a clear start and a clear ending to your
canned this is more important than you might think if we're talking long term we're talking home office for weeks maybe even for months then you need to be able to switch on and off between work mode and relaxing mode you absolutely need the balance of shutting off decompressing
relaxing what's your favorite shows although that is an important part to being able to feel fresh and inspired the next morning the beauty and luxury of being in your own home office means that you get to define what home office feels and looks like to you and since
we set up a clear start and a clear ending point we might as well set up your work zone as well the number one rule you absolutely just have to stick with is removing distractions yes you need to call people yes you need to check on certain things
but having your phone by your side at all times sometimes can be a humongous distraction just because you are now in a different setting you're not in your actual workplace which means that grabbing your phone and just quickly checking Instagram just quickly checking whatever feels so much more
easy because there's no one to control you there's no one to really check up on you so you kind of need to check on yourself I like to put my phone far away or maybe even in a different room you will have an easier time to focus other
than that you can pretty much create every rule yourself because your home office comes with such individual set of circumstances that there is not really a manual to it I for example work and eat from the same place so what I like to do is I like to
set up a home office set up and I like to change it around depending on what I'm doing on that specific table so when I'm eating and I make sure that no home office supplies are on the table anymore and then I put them back on once it's
time to refocus creating your home office should be something that you feel excited about it should have somewhat of a different feeling compared to again just lounging around or doing other things just by changing around settings and by changing your out maybe chairs or maybe tables or whatever
it is this can create that productive zone where you can just really knock out some work and be super hyper focused I loved sectioning out my work that allows me to have a clear vision of what's going on right in front of me so for example I like
to do males in the morning for a few hours and then there is a clear ending point this and then I will only do let's say editing or whatever project it is that I'm currently working on and I will not even take a glance at my mails anymore
and this is easier said than done because again no one looks over your shoulder no one checks up if you really are doing what you're supposed to be doing if you're really sticking to your own plan if you're really sticking to your own structure what happens if you
constantly break through your train of thought is you never allow yourself to truly focus on a deeper level to be really productive and effective on what it is that you're doing right now being more effective it can be a humongous plus to the home office because distractions are
usually the distractions that you are creating yourself and once you are defining your distractions and once you're able to get rid of them you can be just super in the zone and that is such a beautiful blissful experience that I really wish upon anyone so sectioning out your
work finding structures and rules that are realistic to your day finding a planning method works for you should be something that you can just sit down map out look at if you have kids for example that's a whole different story this is really something that you have to
sort of figure out yourself I can only encourage you to see is as almost a little challenge to see just how effective you can be because I genuinely believe that not all of us but most of us are able to put in just a bit more work taking
breaks is so vital because there is only so much hours you can put into a task until you start becoming decision fatigue until your brain just feels overloaded you are getting hungry you need a break girl I kind of like to map out my breaks the way I'm
at my home office this might sound a little excessive but let me explain by setting not necessarily a rule by by setting a frame for my breaks I am sure that I actually use them to their best ability and I won't just end up on my phone and
the break that was supposed to be 30 minutes is now two and a half hours because I wasn't able to get back into work mode I want to be able to feel fresh and I want to be able to refocus once I get out of this break so
there needs to be a little bit of a rule for a break as well I like to take two breaks one that is a lunch break obviously and then one that's around four-ish five-ish that pretty much marks almost the end of the day what I mean by having
a framework for my breaks is I mean that I still want to keep an initial momentum going what I like to do is I like to get up I like to open all of the windows because you're now home all the time which means that you meet more
fresh air all the time I'd actually do just a little stretching of the upper body and then when it comes to lunch break I like to cook I like to again change up the setting eat and pretty much jump right back in and for the second break I
like to ensure that I am up and going I'm up and still doing something I like to quickly clean around the house if you can if you still have the luxury to go out I love taking a quick walk just to soak up some fresh air when you
take a break that is just not productive at all in its own kind of way you will have a harder time to go back into that initial focus mode so this is something that I think for the long run is important if you still want to have a
overall high level energy throughout the day and a huge bonus point if you are tidying and cleaning up while you're in that second break you will have a clean apartment once you get back into your loungewear and you can fully enjoy your evening off and refocus the next
day you are on your own cloth now use that opportunity Home Office can teach you so many beautiful things about your own work ethic and you are able to push yourself in a completely different way being your own CEO setting up your own rule being on your own
clock having your own home if it's all of that can be such a beautiful experience and I am super excited to hear from you guys how you feel about changing things up in your routine and if some of these tips have helped you within your home office scenarios
I'm excited as always to hear from you in the comments and we will see each other in the next video [Music]
