hi everyone and welcome to Happy Trailshiking today we're going to take a look back at some of our old footage fromGlacier National Park in particular going to the Sun Road so Matt didn't getto look at anything when we were driving but the first two pictures we startedfrom Apgar village and now we're headed up into the mountains do you rememberany good well so I did get to look at lots of things it was mostly the roadand like you just saw that wall on the right this road is very technicalespecially when you're in a large vehicle I happen to have a half-timeToyota Tundra which there are bigger vehicles but this one's pretty doggonebig for this particular road now this section we're looking at here is justsort of a general country road but a lot of it is like what you saw a minute agowith rocks sticking out and you really have a you know a 10, 000 not 10, 000 likea 2, 000 foot drop on one side and razor-sharp rocks on the other so thistunnel though is really neat because they carved out these lookouts and um wehave some footage at the end on our way home that night that we can show you atthe end of the video from those lookout points so anyway that's a neat neattunnel or a neat thing along the trail yeah it is you know oh here we go morerocks on the right that'll just kind of come and come out and hit your mirrorone of the things that is really cool about the going-to-the-sun road was theconstruction and those are three arches and that bridge work that was doneand of course the vistas right and that's really kind of one of the thebummers of being the driver is those beautiful views that are really off onthe right you can't take a moment to look at themwhen you're driving I mean I can sort of glance look at them with my peripheralvision like I did see the weeping wall there on the left that we just went byis that what it was a weeping wall yeah okay but yeah there's just not you knowin terms of just absorbing the scenery like this thing here the this mountainwith you know just beautiful little snow mixed in all the green I never saw thatnot as a driver oh I did and Laurie was in the backseat pointing out bird womanFalls or this thing or this peak over there and I think that one is this and Ilove that I get to be I got to have a little tour guide so thanks Laurie forthat but there is a little waterfall down there you see see so I'm Idefinitely am happy to be the driver yes enjoy that job and I'm less scareddriving well then if someone else was that driver no not at all I'm saying I'mparanoid you know but there's no margin for error so if you're on the interstateand you're in the middle of your lane and you make a six-inch mistake itreally doesn't matter if you do make a six-inch mistake on this road you'regoing down a cliff our next footage is from Logan Pass so ranch on the insidesaid that um parking has been filling up about 8:00 a.

here everyday so whenyou come prepared for that takes about an hour from Apgar village to get hereand I don't know how far from the other side but it's kind of in the middleso we're going to let Matt circle for just another second and then head backand probably head out on the road again as you can see a little been passedthere was absolutely no place to park so we headed on after Laurie and I went inand got our stamps I will say that the fun of Logan Pass was driving around theparking lot for 15 minutes well I've got my stamps as fast as Icould okay well yeah I did I did lots of circles that 15 minutes found a place topark at jackson glacier overlook so we're gonna overlook we did get to seesome glaciers and there were some places to park after logan pass and this isjackson glacier it used to be one glacier and now there's two like i gotto see that cuz we're stopped we were stopped we did head on after that and wegot a parking spot right before our hike and this is sun point and I think Mattwould have stood here for a day or two if we don't let him right and we thisbut this was several miles high clike four or five miles and didn't we see amoose along the way am I getting my eggs nice you're getting your hikes mixed upbut we did go on to st.

Mary'sFalls hike please click the link in the upper right corner this view is from thetunnel on our way home and back to Apgar village you see down in the valley I guess in conclusion do you have tipsor thoughts about driving going to the Sun Road glacier well yeah I've got acouple thoughts first it's not a place for a new driver to drive on so you knowparents don't let your seventeen-year-old drive on that roadokay that's that's a job for you the other thought is just take your timeyou know just relax take your time you don't needto have an iron death grip on the wheel you know drive your own dressyeah Drive you and drive respect the road and you know everyone is there tosee the sights and so nobody's gonna be in a big hurry and you know at the endof the day you just gotta take care of yourself be smart about it yeah I thinkif we were to go back which I hope we do sometime I would like to take one ofthose tours so that you actually got to look sometime yeah the tours would becool oh you can ride the shuttle there is a free shuttle that you can can writebut well and I think I would want to take one of the red buses with the openEarth I don't think those are free but it would probably be worth it for thatopen air experience yeah that would be fun or maybe on amotorcycle or a convertible mmm either one of those would be would be good hmmwell thanks for joining us tonight today on our look back at GlacierNational Park and going to the Sun Road alright until next time this is katafrom happy trails hiking thanks for watching.
