– Today, I'm gonna show you how to file for unemployment benefits.
Great to be with you guys.
I am the YouTube Deal Guy Matt Granite.
All of the information I shareis on mattsdailydeals.
And I'm here to help;we're all in the same boat.
The really interestingunique and sad thing about this situation iswe're all in it together.
It doesn't matter whatyour economic bracket is, it doesn't matter what your background is, level of degrees that you have.
Anyone from any walk of life right now is either almost unemployed, unemployed, or at least unsure of where they stand.
And if we do have workgoing on, like for example I'm a YouTube creator, I can still do this as one of my ways topossibly earn a living.
My main source of livelihood right now is completely cut off.
I host a show in New YorkCity, I live in Toronto, the border is closed, I can't host my show.
The studios that I workfor have shut down, and all of my workcontracts are suspended.
So my income is virtually nonexistent.
And I am on my level ofunemployment where I live, which is called CERB.
Gone through the process, I'm here to help you guys with yours.
I recently did a video called “When Will I Get My Stimulus Check?” If you guys are trying to apply for that, I've got a whole processoutlined in detail to assist you.
But first thing first.
If you are looking to get your unemployment questions answered, I've done a full breakdownon mattsdailydeals.
com to answer your unemployment questions.
So for example if you'rewondering if you are unemployed due to one of these three criteria, “An employer temporarilyceasing operations, ” if you are of courseforced to self-isolate, or if you've had to leave work due to an exposure/to carefor a family member, that's there too.
And before I show you the two resources that I would use and thena couple of tricks and tips to get through this process, if you are employed, one, “through no fault of yourown, ” which is typically due to a lack of available work.
Two, you “meet your workand wage requirements, ” which vary state by state.
Or three, “you must meetthe additional requirements “in your state, ” which can be found on your state's unemployment website, you are eligible for these benefits, which typically last fora maximum of 23 weeks.
So I'm gonna show you guyshow to apply right now.
One resource that is tremendous, before I show you specificallywhere you might wanna go to help seek employment, thebenefit website on your screen right now, which I've linkedthrough on mattsdailydeals.
com, will show you state by state breakdowns of what you qualify for, where and when you qualify, and get a lot of those questions answered.
So it's a step-by-stepprocess, shows you specially what number to call, where youfile your unemployment claim.
There are ways to file yourunemployment claims in person.
I remember a couple of weeksagain when the website crashed, I think it was Florida, orat least in one community.
There was just hours and hours of people all lined up in their carsto go apply in person.
At the time I'm uploadingthis video, the systems seem to be working a lot better online.
Of course, that couldchange in an instant.
But assuming it doesn't, these will be the resources, the phone numbers, andeverything you need to apply.
Everything is on yourscreen, and you can see you click Search right here.
The website and the numberschange state by state.
I am unemployed rightnow in New York State, so a lot of the informationthat I've needed to use is on the New York StateDepartment of Labor website.
With that being said, toeven get to this website and to get all of those resourcesI need, the first website, which you guys can see on your screen, which is linked to on mattsdailydeals.
com, is the top unemployment benefits finder.
And then of course thatblog where I explained how long your unemploymentwill last and sort of how to figure out the wholeprocess is all detailed on my website.
I don't wanna bore youwith reading every detail right here, but that's where it is.
For those of you that arelooking for top search engines to try and find jobs on top of the filing that we all need to do, Iwanna show you two tricks that I think are worth your while.
The first job search engine, and of course none of these companies arepaying me to talk about them, I'm just telling your right now.
I've had good luck using theIndeed job search service, which has been around a while.
There's a lot of greatfree searches that you add, especially for work fromhome jobs right now.
I've seen a lot of updatesfor employment from home, which I think is tremendous.
And then I've never been a huge fan of job opportunities on LinkedIn.
I feel like it's justoversaturated with people all trying to do the same thing for the same few job listings.
But one thing that is worth iton their premium membership, if you have a littlebit of disposable cash for a month and you wannaupgrade your membership.
There is a section on you profile, and this is my profile right here, where you can actually change your profile to open to job opportunities.
And you can make your job searchvisible only to recruiters or visible to anyone.
And if you switch yourprofile over to a public view and you're not embarrassed by the fact that you are out ofwork or need employment, there are a lot of searchesthat are conducted on LinkedIn.
And whether it's whitecollar, blue collar, self-employed individuals, any type of job right now might have an at home component that you could potentially apply for.
And I don't think, maybe you guys disagree, I'm not beyond any work, right? Like there is nothing thatI won't do to help provide for my family.
So whether you'reapplying for the benefits or you are looking for a job, that would be my breakdown.
Everything that you needis on mattsdailydeals.
And if you are lookingagain for how to apply for the stimulus checkand when you will get the stimulus check andall of those questions, I did that as part of another video.

So if you are on socialsecurity or disability and you have other insightthat you wanna interject, please leave a comment.
You guys were so helpful.
You're even more helpfulthat I was on the last video, and I'm learning from you.
It's a good reciprocal relationship.
And of course we're all in this together.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
And I hope you guys getback to a new normal or your old normal as soon as possible.
