do you know what the number one factor when it comes to search engine rankings is its links Moz did a study they interviewed SEO experts and you know what they said what the number one factor that impacts your google rankings is links but links are really hard to build so how are you gonna build them hey everyone i'm neil patel and today i'm gonna share with you how i built over 23, 000 unique links to neil patel calm and what's really impressive about this is neil patel calm is purely marketing related if I can convince other marketers to link to me you can build links using the same exact tactics so let's break down how I built over 23, 000 backlinks so here's one simple thing that I did that works now and it worked five six years ago you go to buzzsumo you then type in a keyword related to your industry it'll show you all the popular articles based on social shares go take the articles that are really in-depth and list based and they break down things step by step and then I want you to go create an infographic with that same information you can spice it up add your own data to it but hey the content is all right there in front of you now when you create this infographic you need a cite the source that you got all your information from this specific website but it'll go viral why because most people rather look at an image then read thousands and thousands of words of text you can use info Graham or canva to help build your infographic or you can use dribble DRI BBB le com to go find a designer who can help create your infographic for you if you're gonna pay a designer doesn't cost more than five hundred bucks now that you create an infographic what you need to know is this infographic has to be super visual if it's data rich that's great but if it has a ton of colors and it's hard to look at that's bad if your steps don't flow in a smooth pattern that's bad for example I have an infographic that talks about the psychology behind colors and it'll discuss different things like the meaning of colors or what men or women perceive different colors to be what colors convert better than others right but the flows from each point go together right the data has to all blend in together and if it doesn't blend in together people are gonna look at your infographic and be like whoa kneel or whoa John or Jill or whatever your name is this is super choppy I don't know how to follow along and implement this information so it has to float I can't emphasize that enough now once your infographic is up and running I want you to put embed code at the bottom of your infographic you want to put it in bed code so other people can take that infographic and put it on their website if they put it on their website what does it do it links back to yours and if you don't know how to create embed code what you want to do is use a plugin on WordPress called WP and bed code generator and that'll just create them bed code for user then that way people can just copy and paste and slap your infographic on their website now that you got that infographic up on your website and people are able to embed it so they'll create backlinks you need to get traffic to your site because if you don't get traffic no one's gonna embed it so I want you to go back to buzzsumo and find that article that had all those shares click on view shares and that will break down every single person that shared that article on twitter you want to email them hey John I notice you shared this article on Twitter called 101 ways to boost your traffic by author Neil Patel I have a similar infographic that actually breaks down those points in a visual fashion Cheers David right usually I what i said cheers Neil but I actually said my name was Neil or I put Neil within the message you get the point nonetheless all right so now that you're sending out these emails you're gonna get a lot of responsive people being like yes I want to see it not only will they share it but a lot of them will embed it now the next thing you want to do is go to a trucks a href s.
com put in that competitor article and see every single person who links to them and email them it's that simple a lot of times they'll respond back with yeah it's already linked to the article that means they liked it why wouldn't they bed the infographic it really is that simple and then once you have the audience you want to create more amazing content and I love using the skyscraper technique which Brian Dean invented so what that is is you go to let's say buzzsumo again you type in keywords and you're looking for articles like ten ways to double your search engine traffic and you want to write more thorough articles like a hundred and one ways to double your search engine traffic and again you want to use the same thing you click on the view shares if you head up each of those people using an email you get them to share your articles and then BOOM you'll get more traffic more backlinks and I'll keep rolling in and a create this snowball effect you also want to do the same thing with hrs you go type in your competitor URL and you'll see all the people who link to them and which articles get the most links right better versions of those articles and then email them again with the same email template and asking them to link to you by doing those things you'll get a ton of links now as you get this traffic coming to your website you need to do one last thing you want to use the tool called hello bar hello bar makes it really simple to collect emails just like how I collect emails on Neil Patel comm with my exit pop-up now when you're collecting all these emails what ends up happening is when you publish a new blog post you can email all these people letting them know about your latest blog post they'll come back to your website they're more likely to share it they're more likely to read it and they're more likely to link back to you your email subscribers are your most loyal readers so make sure no matter what you're collecting emails and you can do this using hellobar so if you have questions on how you can get more backlinks similar to me just leave a comment below and I'll be there to help you out I'm trying to build a community of like-minded entrepreneurs and marketers so please subscribe like the page subscribe to my channel leave comments let people know about this video because I want to continually help more people like you thank you for watching.
