[Music] to come hey guys welcome back to my channel I am so excited to sit down and film today's video because I'm gonna be sharing all the things you need in order to entertain your kids at home I have really been trying to get super creative and I've
came up with a bunch of different ideas and I wanted to sit down and share these ideas with you guys and hopes to help you out maybe spark some inspiration to do in your home with your kids some of these things I'm going to share are simple things
that you could easily just do today with your kids that don't really even cost money I'm also gonna share a couple of things we have purchased to help with all of this stay at home time things are kind of crazy most of us are at home with our
kids and I feel like it has been very hard is trying to constantly come up with the new ways to entertain them so hopefully this video helped you guys like videos like this please give this one a thumbs up if you're new here I would love to have
you stick around and subscribe I share a lot of unfiltered Raw motherhood so if you're new here don't forget to hit that red subscribe button so you can stick around and see more anyways let's jump on into the video so something I really tried to do is to
get creative with things we already had around our house with schools clothing with birthdays being disrupted with you know kids not seeing their friends and you know not following their normal routines like going to dance class and soccer practice and slumming lessons that kind of stuff I think
the best thing we can do for these kids is just try to make their day-to-day life just a little bit more fun and that's what I've been trying to do for my daughter if you guys are new here I'm a mom of one she's three years old and
I've just been trying to make everyday things just a tad bit more fun so one of the first things that we've done that has been a huge hit is we've had random sleepovers so for me I live in an apartment it's a 2-bedroom about her closet is like
really big and that's where all of her toys are and her clothes but it's also like it's a giant closet she has room to like lay down in there and stuff so we actually filled her closet with blankets and pillows and all of her stuffed animals I set
up her Amazon tablet so we could like watch a movie so we ended up having a little movie night in her closet sounds super random but two kids like this kind of stuff is so fun and so simple to do so create some a little sleepover like an
a random place in your house if you have a backyard go camping in your backyard just like things like that are gonna be so fun and help make memories through all of this chaos right now that's happening in the world but we snuggled up we watched a movie
we had popcorn all in her closet and she just thought it was the coolest thing and that was a really fun special memory for her and I and we've also done a lot of fort building so super simple just grab some blankets get creative build a fort so
fun doesn't cost any money you can do this with things you already have around your house since we do live in an apartment we don't really have outside space we have a very small patio but we have been taking a lot of walks we've been going on a
lot of scooter rides I actually purchased a scooter myself so I could go on a scooter ride with my daughter and it's been so fun but during our time outside we have done a lot of different things like going on scavenger hunts so one thing that we did
that was also educational is we tried to find every color of flowers so we tried to make a rainbow assortment of flowers so for example we have to find a red flower so we'd pick the red flower then we'd have to find an orange flower we'd pick the
orange flower and then we lined each flower up and made a little rainbow and it was just so fun like my daughter had a blast doing it she was so proud and then we kept all the flowers and we like made a little bouquet and put him in
our house and she just thought of the coolest thing that was so simple that cost us no money um a couple flowers were harmed in the process but I think it was okay but a simple scavenger hunt outside make a list of things that they could easily find
outside like a pinecone I don't know like a piece of trash or something that they have to pick up and then throw away sanitize it sanitize think what's outside in your yard and think age appropriately what your child could find it could be something as simple as a
leaf so yes go on a scavenger hunt you could even do this in your house super simple I totally forgot to talk about this one and wanted to include this is so so fun so just put your kid in a laundry basket or something like this type in
live rollercoaster on YouTube and go for a rollercoaster ride guarantee this will be fun for your kids okay the next thing on my list is baking obviously baking has been like something I feel like a lot of people have been doing but get your kids involved in it
for us my favorite thing that I've been baking again like most people I feel like this is the staple thing to bake right now but that is banana bread everybody's baking banana bread but get your kids involved in this process whenever I bake banana bread I always add
the bananas to like a ziplock baggie and then I give them to my daughter and she can smash them up with her hands it's mess free it gets her involved in the process she has so much fun doing it okay the next thing on my list is something
I loved doing – this is probably one of my top things that we've done but we went outside and we found the perfect Rock and we adopted that rock and we brought that rock back inside and we washed it scarlet has a little sink which I'll leave a
link to it below she's a little sink and she has soap and water and she scrubbed that rock she got all the dirt and then once that rock was clean we dried it and then we got out the paints and she painted the rock and it was just
such a fun fun thing for her let me go grab it hold on this is the rock that scarlet painted that we still have to this day we probably did this like the second week of the stay-at-home order and it was such a simple activity that she was
so proud of it and then to add to that our little sink that we have is amazing I highly recommend it I got mine on Jane comm you can also get it on Amazon but anyway this little sink has been fun because I have her like wash her
toys and wash her dishes or like wash her like dinosaurs that she has her stuff like that we use bubbles and she like completely like feels like she's cleaning them up little projects like that have been great but if you don't have this play sink filling up just
like your bathroom sink and letting them play in the water with soap and letting them scrub a toy or something to get it clean and give it a bath or something like that is so simple and so easy okay so the other thing I have in my list
is this is so random if you feel the need to get out of your house I know every States a little different but for us we're in an apartment we don't have a lot outside space like sometimes I just have to get out of my house and we
go on a drive while we are going on and drive but one of our favorite things to do if we just need to get out of the house and still practice social distancing and not go anywhere is go through a carwash so simple but Scarlett loved that another
thing that has been fun scarlet I have done is have a like a car picnic so I've seen a lot of people doing this actually but we'll drive through somewhere and just eat in the car we'll go park somewhere and I've seen a lot of people doing this
and like parking lots and stuff and that's what we've done I just simply let her out of her car seat we sit in the trunk and we share a burger or something like that so little things like that you can safely do have a change of scenery sometimes
that's all you need just to like spice up your week okay the next items are physical items that we've either purchased or we already had so I'm going to share these next I think everything came from Amazon I'm pretty sure so I talked about this in one of
my last day in the life blogs but we have not got them in yet but we recently just ordered live caterpillars live caterpillars from Amazon and we're gonna do the whole like watch them turn into cocoons and then grow into butterflies and then release them into the wild
so Scarlett's gonna see that process it's gonna be a great stem activity and it'll be a lot of fun too Scarlett's favorite thing are butterflies right now so that's gonna be a really fun project a fun learning project for us to do something else that I've seen people
do that I just I haven't really had the desire to do because it kind of freaks me out so I don't really like bugs even if they're ladybugs but you can also purchase live ladybugs from Amazon so I'm not really all about that because I don't want bugs
crawling on me I don't care if it's like a ladybug or what and honestly I don't like pink scarlet would love that either but if your kid would be into that that's something you can do – that is fun and could be really educational as well you could
totally like make a themed a day out of it do like a crafts relate into ladybugs and then end the day with the live ladybugs or something like that so next on my list is the Crayola bath drops so if you haven't seen these they're typically with like
the bath soap but all they are these little tablets there are three colors they're the primary colors red blue and yellow and what's cool about it is you can actually use this as a learning process we have been learning what colors make what so scarlet will pick out
like a blue one in the yellow one and we'll mix them together in the bath and we'll turn her water water graininess so it's actually like a learning activity at the same time I also wanted to add this make bath time extra fun and add some sticks to
your bath time it'll be a blast guarantee I recently bought a water mat I think there's another name for an aqua mat maybe I don't know but they are so cool they're mess-free it's a big giant mat and whenever water is on the mat it changes color and
then it dries water beads have always been a staple in our home we always have them on hand so we recently just made some and that's been a fun little sensory activity at Scarlett's been playing with them randomly she like puts them in her dishes and like makes
water beads soup and stuff like that I don't know but she's been having fun with them water beads are awesome we started using them when Scarlett was like – I think what's awesome about these is one teaspoon I think maybe it's one tablespoon but one tablespoon makes so
many so you can buy a pack of water beads and literally use just a little bit at a time and you'll have them forever before all of the stay-at-home stuff happened we already had these made we've been playing with these for probably over a year now but we
have these beans that we dyed and they've been a staple of Scarlett's to play with she likes to just do random things with it she likes to scoop and pour and hide her toys and the beans and then have to find them I have a video where I
shared a bunch of different since replay activities so I'll link that below that's actually where we made our colored beans but if you can't get your hands on beans because I know some products are kind of hard to buy right now rice is really fun to play with
I kind of prefer playing with rice over beans because rice is easier to clean up or back you up so if you're gonna choose one or the other I actually say go for rice we purchased this damn stuff I actually put it in her Easter basket but it's
been a really fun little art activity for her it has the Disney Princesses on it they have a couple different versions of this too the next thing we've been loving are these dry race books I found that this book at Costco and it's been awesome it's kind of
different than the other ones that we have because it's like more of a tracing book I guess a lot of like dotted lines that they have to really work on their pin control and they're their pincher grips and stuff like that so I've liked that a lot this
has been a great book for her I think it was like ten dollars at Costco and then also these two books came from Amazon and they're like you know you trace the letters trace the numbers that kind of stuff so we're working on ABCs and one two threes
and all of that that she was learning in school so these little workbooks have been awesome love these highly highly recommend so the next thing we've been doing is making lunch times just a little bit more fun I've been trying to get creative even if we're just eating
like a simple peanut butter and jelly Pinterest has been my inspiration for all of my art projects and fun little toddler meals I'll find something on there and then I'll try to recreate it I haven't had any Pinterest fails yet so things are going pretty good but we've
made like fun little character peanut butter and jellies we have made a rainbow grilled cheese which was really fun I recently just purchased this fun little plate for scarlet and basically this plate is designed to get them to eat their food and then at the end of the
trail there's like a little surprise for them or a little treat for them to eat but this plate is amazing it has a couple different versions that it comes in two highly recommend anyways I am gonna go ahead and cut this video off I could go on forever
I've been trying to get so creative when it comes to entertaining scarlet in a productive way we've shared a lot of art projects and stuff like that too and my day in the life logs so if you are new here definitely go check those videos out I hope
you guys enjoy this video I hope it gave you some inspiration to stay busy with your kids at home anything I talked about in today's video as long as I can find a link I'll have it linked down below in the description box so make sure to check
