hello and welcome to this video on how to glue on tubular tyres tubular tyres compared to clinches are lighter and are referred to as the gold standard and are used by pros so why glue and not tape well if you're prepared to put 15 minutes a day in
for a few days then glue is definitely the preferred a stronger method of application source we're going to need for this well all the stuff laid on the side we've got some very fine sandpaper a brush we've got some protective gloves and we've also got some sub Globes
from continental tube glue some jubler tires and we've got a pump we've got some alcohol wipes and we've got a wheel set so what we're waiting for less crack on step 1 prepare the surface of the ribs remove any old salt grits if you have to use the
edge of a screwdriver but be very careful once you've prepared the rim wipe down with an alcohol wipe to remove any grease and dust we also use some despite with remove any later if you are using an older tire then a little bit more work will be involved
because you need to remove any old glue step 2 if you are using an old tire and skips a step 3 if you have a new tire than what we now need to do is Mount a tire on the rim with no glue and fully inflates to stretch
the tire this then is left overnight step 3 okay so we are now ready to start gluing first things first protect yourself because this can become very messy if not careful Rob applause and old clothes or good idea the tricks of this method is thin layers using the
valve hole as a marker thinly apply the glue onto the rim working all the way around ensure its even unto the edge ensuring no glue goes onto the braking surface now with your tire need to inflate it just enough so it starts to turn inside out then use
the exact same process as we did on the rim then uneven layer of glue just to the base tape now all we need to do is set these aside for 24 hours to dry off step 4 after 24 hours all we need to do is repeat the process
on the rim and the tire and again set this aside for a further 24 hours we are going to repeat the process until we have at least three layers on I prefer to apply forward to be safe so if four layers are on yes that's going to take
four days step 5 we are finally here after lots of preparation we are ready to fit the tire so all we need to do is one final layer of glue to the rim and also the tire release some of the pressure in the tire making it easier to
mount place the ring with the valve hole facing new insert the valve pressing in and then stretch it down over the rim in the same manner we did to stretch the tire as you get to the last bit ensure you wipe off any excess glue that may have
got onto the side walls of your rim all that's left to do now is inflate the tire up to the desired psi ensuring the tire is on and straight if not deflate the tire uncorrect it then reach in place we're nearly there all that's left Sunao yes you
guessed it is leave it for a further 24 hours before being able to ride on it fantastic well we are finally here and they're all ready to be put back on the bike and hopefully for many miles to come they really do offer a great ride and it
is worth the effort and the hard work this is a little bit messy I would definitely recommend some old clothes and some course protect your hands and also some finis to clean the brush each time as well if you don't have a wheel truing stand which many people
use then I have just used and all sorts of bogs or for the rear wheel you can use it all frame if you are using your new frame then make sure it's really protected because that glitz everywhere if you do enjoy watching these videos then please subscribe it's
