Skincare and selfcare go hand in hand so we have curated the perfect DIY Spa routine, filled with natural ingredients and relaxing practices for you to follow along! Start with cleansing your face.
Gently take off your makeup with a makeup remover.
Follow this up with a face wash to double cleanse and ensure there is no trace of makeup left behind.
Now comes the ultimate pore cleansing trick, steam! Cover your face with a towel to trap the steam within.
This helps in opening up the pores and making your skin soft and supple.
Now that your pores have opened up, it is the right time to declare an attack on those stubborn whiteheads and blackheads using an extraction tool.
This step in your spa routine will get you closer to glowing and supple skin! Here’s what you’ll need, half a cup of papaya, 1 tbsp yogurt and one teaspoon of honey! All you need to do is blend these superstar ingredients together and your glow boosting mask is ready! The papaya contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, that dissolve your dead skin cells and reveal fresh and clear skin.
Yogurt tightens the skin and slows down its ageing process.
The antibacterial properties of honey repair skin inflammation and protect it from further damage.
Leave this mask on for about 20 minutes and wash it off and you’ll notice that the glow on your skin is revived.
Since the number one goal of this at-home Spa day is pampering your skin, it is incomplete without a sheet mask.
Thanks to the additional hydration, the benefits of your mask will unfurl on its own.
This extra layer of moisture is the secret to ultimate relaxation.
Sit back, relax and enjoy 20 minutes of absolute bliss.
Massaging your skin has countless aesthetic as well as relaxing benefits that will also help slim down your face and increase blood circulation.
Start with a sprinting motion.
Warm up your skin by running your fingers all over your face in short quick dabs.
Now massage in a zig-zag motion and continue to repeat it all over your face in horizontal or vertical zig-zags.
This technique will help you de-stress.
Gently press the temples of your head and move from left to right in circular motions.
Now, pinch your eyebrows a couple of times to relax your eyes.
To de-puff your under eye bags, move your ring finger around your orbital bone in a gentle left to right motion.
For chiseled cheekbones massage both your cheeks in an upward motion.
Finally massage your face starting from the centre moving outwards.
All these practices will help you relax and boost your blood circulation, giving you a naturally pink flush! A foot soak that soothes aches and leaves you with baby soft feet sounds like a dream right? But here’s how you can achieve it! You’ll need a bowl of water, a cup of epsom salt and a few drops of eucalyptus oil.
Now, sit back and relax for about 15 to 20 minutes and then gently massage your feet in circular motions.
Not only will you have relaxed for 20 minutes of pure heaven, but your feet will feel extremely soft and moisturised too! There’s nothing more therapeutic and relaxing than getting your nails painted, even more so if you are the artist! Start with taking off your nail polish, if you have any on, with an acetone free nail polish remover.
Take a bowl of lukewarm water and add a few drops of liquid body wash to it.
Soak your hands in this for 5-10 minutes and use a nail brush to scrub away any dead skin or dirt from underneath your nails.
Now rinse the soap and pat dry with a soft hand towel.
File your nails starting from the corner, going in towards the centre.
Avoid constantly going back and forth on your nails as it leads to cracking and breaking.
Now, using a Q-tip, condition your nail bed with some olive oil.
Wipe the excess oil away after a few minutes.
So make sure to load up on hand cream and apply it on your hands and nails.
Finally, go ahead and apply 2 coats of your favourite nail polish for soft and beautiful hands Self care is as important as skincare, body care and health care.
