Hello Hi! Dear friends How about a Ramadan special traditional item There's something called Pola.
It can be made using Banana or Chana Dal Now there's a wide variety of Pola as we've been experimenting with lot of flavours One of the important one among that is the Carrot Pola I'm going to make a Carrot Pola All you need is 2 Carrots Then we need Eggs and some other things.
Pola is so easy to make and it's tasty too Cut them into big pieces.
I had already removed the skin It was washed thouroughly and I'm putting it to a pan Add the required water to cook it There's nothing left to do while the Carrot cooks We have to mix the cooked Carrots along with some other things in the mixer I'm going to add Milk Powder along with the Carrots Egg is an important factor when it comes to making Pola.
I've got 5 Eggs Then we need Sugar.
It depends on the taste There's no need to add any other flavouring agents.
Use the same ingredients to get the original taste We have to wait until the Carrot gets cooked Okay, Carrot has cooked Wait for some more time so that the water disappears The water is almost dry, turn off the heat Let the Carrots cool for some time Use a mixer to beat all the required things Add Eggs first Add it one by one Add 4 Tbsp Sugar Also add 5 Tbsp of Milk Powder.
I'm using the brand 'Everyday' It has been added Finally add the Carrots Don't add anything like Cardamon to give an extra flavour Give this a nice mix so that we'll get a fine batter There's absolutely no need of any additional flavouring agents as it has got a good flavour to itself It needs one more good beating Okay, the batter needed for the Pola is ready You need a pan with a hard bottom while making snacks like Pola and Chatti Pathiri It's from Teflon and it's called OK.
It's a good pan with a hard base Add 1 Tbsp Ghee Spread it well You can add Cashew and Raisins if you wish but it's not required Wait for the pan to get nice and hot Pour the batter into the pan Close the lid and let it cook I poured the batter once the pan got really hot Now cook it in a small flame Cook for 15 minutes in a low flame and do not disturb it The Pola will get cooked well and it'll become set It'll take a maximum of 20 minutes.
Let's see how it's looking after 15 minutes 15 minutes are over, let's see how the cook is Our Carrot Pola is ready and I've turned off the flame Let it cool for some time The bottom portion will be cooked well and the top portion will have a light orange colour from the Carrot We have to cook the other side too Use a plate with Ghee on it to flip over the Pola You can see the cook on one side It'll come off easily as we used Ghee Flip it once again using the lid All you have to do is close the lid once again and we can cook the other side See how easily I was able to do it Cook for some time in a low flame so that the bottom part will also have that small colour difference After that we can serve it First flip it to a plate and then again onto a lid And finally from the lid to back into the pan.
That way we'll get the top and bottom part interchanged Give about 5 minutes so that it can cook 3 minutes has passed and I'm going to open the lid I'm turning off the heat as the pan will have some heat and the Pola will cook slighly more Flip it once again like we did earlier Here, you can see the slight colour change Cooking it slightly more will change the colour a bit more and it's totally upto you Let it rest and cool for some time Soft and fluffy Carrot Pola is ready This is the top part and the bottom is having a bit more darker shade I'm infront of a beautiful Carrot Pola I'm going to cut it It's really soft and fluffy and I can't find words to describe it Cut in any way you please It's piping hot You can see the steam coming out See how soft it is It soft and fluffy at the same time Anyone can make it easily One important thing is the regulaton of heat Only pour the batter once the pan gets really hot It's important to use a pan which has a hard base Steam mustn't go out and cook it in a low flame 15 minutes is enough and sometimes it might take 17 minutes Turn off the heat after that and let it rest for 2 minutes Then flip it over like I did earlier so that the top and bottom part gets interchanged Cook for another 3 – 4 minutes in a small flame It's an ideal snack to have during Ramadan It's something that can be made very easily by ladies I'm with the beautiful Carrot Pola Follow the same procedure to get it done exactly like this.
I have to give a lot of credit to my pan I use the OK from Teflon for making these items and there's a lot more to come Let this be agood start for that I'm going to taste it.
You can use a spoon as it's so soft just like a Caramel Custard You'll keep on having it The Pola will melt in your mouth It's good especially for those who are fasting as it contains Protien from the Eggs That's the main reason why Dry Fruits, Milk and Eggs were made a part of our diet You can make wide varities of Pola and I'll be making some other version of it I've made the most simple version out of it and it's the Carrot Pola I really wish I could give this to you for tasting but unfortunately I'm not in a position to do so Give me your valuble feedbacks after making this.
