– Hey guys, my name is Matt Johnson and today I want to show youhow to remove camera flashes from your video footagein Adobe Premiere Pro and take your footagefrom looking like this with photographer flashafter flash going off to this, clean and smooth video withno flashes to be seen is this witchcraft Matt? That looks so good.
I'm telling you, I'm soexcited about this tutorial.
If you're a wedding videographer like me, I'm sure you've workedwith a wedding photographer that has brought out acamera flash at some point.
Now I love photographersnothing against them.
I know that they need light just as much as videographers do.
But sometimes there are alot of flashes in my footage and I want to remove themso the video looks better.
Let's jump right into Premiere and I'm gonna show you how to do that now.
Welcome to Premiere Pro.
Now this technique toremove camera flashes will work with any versionof Premiere after CC 2015.
So as long as you have alater version than that, you're good to go.
Now I've already importeda video clip here and put it down on the timeline.
As you can see, it's froma wedding that I filmed and there are flashesgoing off every few seconds with your video clip full of flashes that you need to remove.
The first thing that you're gonna wanna do is zoom in on your videoclip by pressing the plus key and then start scrubbingthrough the video clip until you find the first camera flash and stop your playhead directly on where it is flashing click to select your video clip and then press Control + K if you're on PC or Command+ K if you're on a Mac, to cut the video clipdirectly where the flash is next press the right arrow keyto move the playhead forward so that the flashes no longer visible and press Control + Kagain to make another cut.
Now a lot of times a photographer's flash will flash multiple times.
So pressing the right arrow I'm gonna forward a bit there is another part of the flash I'm gonna press Control + K, move forward one framepress Control + K again Now I'm going to repeat this process throughout the entire clip, finding a flash making a cut until I have made cutswhere all of the flashes are that I want to haveremoved in the video clip.
I'm going to zoom out hereby pressing the minus key.
And as you can see, I have now made cuts at the beginning and end of every single flash in this clip next, press the plus key multiple times to zoom in very close and then go through and select all of theseclips that have a flash and press the delete key todelete them from the timeline.
With that done as you can see, there are no flashes butnow there's just blank spots in between the video clips that's not good to remove those move over to the right of your clip, click and drag and selectthe entire video clip.
Then go up to Sequence, Close Gap, tadah.
Now all of these spaces are removed, hit play and now the flashes are gone.
But wait a second, Matt.
You got rid of the flashes but now there's justlittle jumps in the footage where you remove the frames this sucks How can you fix it? Do not worry.
Now here's my secret beard sauce to fix all of this and make all of yourclip transitions smooth.
You're gonna click and dragto select all of your clips.
Then right click on your selected clips and go to Nest, titleyour Nested Sequence, wedding exit flash removed.
Nice name, click OK.
And as you can see, all the clips are gone and they've been replaced witha big singular green clip.
Looking pretty, last step, right click on this new clip, go to Speed/Duration.
And then over here itsays time interpolation.
Click this drop down and selectOptical Flow and press OK.
You're done, It's fixed, hit play and your video should beplaying back smoothly.
Even with the frames removed.
It's that easy, with that I hope this videohas been helpful to you with removing photographerflashes from your video footage.
