If you spend just this next 30 minutes withme, you're going to end up with a fully SEO optimized website using Rank Math, the leadingplugin for SEO on WordPress based websites.
I know the phrase game changing, whateveris way overused Rank Math is not game changing.
It's more of a disruptive plugin.
Because it provides so much value in a laundry list of features that you would normally haveto pay hundreds of dollars per year to have on your website.
But with Rank Math, you'reable to have all of this.
It won't cost you anything.
It's going to be free.
So when this tutorial video, we're going to go through these setup.
Process of Rank Math on your website and getting it SEO optimized for Google and the othersearch engines.
I'm also going to show you how easy it is to migrate from existing SEOplugins that you might be using, such as Yoast redirection or rich snippets plugins.
We'regoing to go over the basics of keyword research.
I'm going to teach you how to keyword optimizeyour various pages and posts, including WooCommerce products.
And recently released in the rightmath plugin is SEO optimization inside of Elementor, if you're an element or page builderuser.
And lastly, we're gonna unlock the mystery of having schema enriched snippets on yourcontent.
So when people see.
Your website in the searchengines, you're going to have all sorts of stars in numbers and information there.
That'sgoing to draw eyeballs and attention to your website.
It's going to get you morewebsite traffic.
So if you made it this far, I'm pretty sure that you want to SEO optimizeyour website.
Let's not waste a second longer.
Let's goahead and get started now, before we get started, it's important to go over what SEO is allabout, and it's quite simply to help search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing tounderstand what your website is about.
The only way they can recommend your website tosomeone is when they understand what it's about and it's your job.
To let them know what your website is about.
Now, out of the box, WordPress needs a littlehelp, and that's where Rank Math comes in.
So in this video, we're going to first goover how to install and set up Rank Math.
This is also going to include migrating fromany existing tools that you may already have, but Rank Math can replace.
Such as Yoast or other tools.
Next, we're going to go over some important settings andwe're going to set up your websites site map and look at some specific integrations.
Lastly, we're going to SEO optimize your content for pages.
For posts and also for products ifyou're using WooCommerce or have any sort of eCommerce store on your website.
So let's go ahead and get started.
Open a new tab inside of your web browser and goto this address right here, WP crafter.
Go ahead and click on enter.
And it'sgoing to take us right on over to the Rank Math website.
There is a download button righthere in the top right.
We'll go ahead and click on that, and it's going to start downloadingRank Math, and you can see that right here.
I'll go ahead and close that out right now.
So here is the website that I have set up that we're going to install Rank Math on.
I have WooCommerce on this.
I'm also running Yoast and the rich snippets plugin.
Now go to plugins, click on add new, click on upload plugin, and then drag and drop theplugin that was downloaded just a moment ago.
Or you can click on choose file and selectit.
Then click on install now.
Now click on activate, and the first time you activateRank Math, it's going to take you through this startup process.
Now, most of these stepsare going to be completely optional, including this first step right here, which is encouragingyou to create a free account with rake math and connect your website to it.
There is no cost to create.
A Rank Math account, and it's completely optional.
Now, here'swhy you would want to create this free account.
Number one, no personal or sensitive datais going to be shared with Rank Math.
Number two, you're going to get access to their .
I know that's a techie term there, but let me just break it on down what that means.
So when you're using the Rank Math, you're going to get access to their autosuggestiontool from Google because they're pulling in the data from Rank Math.
And that's one ofthe benefits of creating this free account.
And lastly, you're going to get to use theSEO analyzer feature that comes with Rank Math.
Now I am going to activate this free account, but if this is something that you don't wantto do, you can go ahead and skip this step.
However, I would highly recommend it.
Nowyou have an option here to allow some data sharing with Rank Math.
This is usage data.
It's not sensitive information.
It's just so that they can have a better understandingof how their users are using Rank Math.
I'll go ahead and click on activate Rank Math.
That right here, and what this is going to do is take me to the Rank Math website.
Youcan easily create a free Rank Math account.
If you're logged into Facebook, you can clickright here and it will use your phone.
Facebook credentials to create a Rank Math account.
Same if you're logged into Google, which I am.
You can click right here, or you can clickright here and enter in email address.
So I'm going to go ahead right here and use anemail address.
So since I'm logged into Google, I'll click right here.
It says, continue withGoogle.
Here's where I'm going to choose the Google account to link up with.
I'll click right here.
Here's a final confirmation with my name and the website.
I'll click onokay to confirm, and now I'm back on my website.
It was as easy as that to get started.
Sonow we're going to go through a series of steps to get this completely configured onour website.
Go ahead and click start up.
Wizard right now.
The first step is the importstep.
This sees if you're coming from an existing SEO plugin that you have on your website, so this sees that I have Yoast on my website and I also have the redirections plugin onmy website.
If you don't have an SEO plugin on your website currently, there's going tobe nothing to import and you'll be able to go.
Straight to the next step, but for me, I did want to demonstrate it in this video, so I'mgoing to click on start import, and it's just going to take a moment and it's going to importall the data from Yoast and redirections.
Now when I'm done with this setup process, I'm going to be able to go to my plugins on my website and remove Yoast and the redirectionsplugin looks like it's all done.
Now I'll scroll down.
And click on continue.
Now, on this step, we need to choose what type of website that we have, and you canclick right here to see all the different types of websites that are available.
Letme talk you through these different types of websites.
The first one is personal blog.
This would be if you're running a single author blog orAffiliate marketing website where it says community blog or a new site.
This would beif you're running a multi author blog where multiple authors are contributing to the contenton your website, personal portfolio is going to be for designers or people who want todisplay your portfolio or business.
The small business site option is perfectfor a local website unless you're also selling products from your website.
Now the web.
Theshop option are for those sites where you're using WooCommerce or easy digital downloads, or you're selling a product on your website or even a drop shipping website.
And we have these final two options here.
Other personal websites, if none of the abovecategories fit, and the same here for other business website, if none of the above categoriesfit.
So for me, I'm going to choose a small business site right here.
Next we have businesstype.
And you could scroll through the list here to choose the business type that mostfits what your business is.
Now, I didn't show you in the beginning ofthis video, but this website is for a health and fitness club.
So I started entering inhealth and it pulled this right up so I can click right there and choose it.
Now we havea few additional options and what these options are for.
Have you ever gone to Google anddid a search, for example.
Apple, you do a search for Apple or some otherbusiness, and off to the right, right here you see a list of information including thebusinesses name, the type of business, the logo for the business, and additional information.
So when we're at this step here in the setup wizard, this is you giving.
Google that information, the business type, the company name, the logo, and we also get an opportunity to add a defaultsocial share image.
So if your website is shared anywhere on Facebookor Twitter or a social network like that, it's going to automatically display this imageif you haven't already set an image for that piece of content.
So this is going to be veryhelpful to have set here.
And then you don't have to worry about it.
So I'm going to go ahead and put my company name in there and then click on save and continue.
In this step, we're going to connect your website to Google search console, which isa very important tool that Google offers to you for free.
But what you want to do firstis go to Google search console.
If you don't have an account yet, create an account andadd your website.
This is very easy to do.
Open up a new tab, go to Google.
And search for Google search console.
You can see for me, it's the firstresult when clicking on the first result.
It takes me here to Google search console'swebsite where you can click on start.
Now, if you're already logged into your Googleaccount, you will be logged into search console.
However, if you do not have a Google accountor you're not logged into your Google account, you'll have to either create your Google accountor login to it.
Here I am logged into Google search console.
Now keep in mind.
From timeto time, they change the way this looks, but it's okay because rank masking to pull thedata from here into your WordPress website.
Now that I'm logged into Google search consoleover here on the top left, you can see the website that I'm currently showing data for.
But I need to add a new site.
So click right here in the dropdown, and then I'll go hereto add property.
It's going to pull this up, and the first step is to enter in the domainname.
So I've entered in, let's create a website.
comwhich is the domain name that I'm using to install Rank Math on.
I'll go ahead and clickon continue.
Now this is the only step that's a little on the techie side, and it involvesadding something called a DNS record.
Don't get overwhelmed.
Wherever your domainname is registered, you can reach out to their support and get help if you get a little caughtup.
So for me, my domain name is registered atSiteGround, so I'm going to easily be able to go into psych ground and do what I needto do.
Here's a dropdown of DNS providers such as GoDaddy.
com and some of these, it's not that much of an extensive list here, so if you are running into issues on this, I would go to Google and do a search or go to where you've registered the domain nameif it was at your web host, and just ask the support that you already pay for to do itfor you.
But I know how to do this and I'm going toshow you how it needs to be done.
So what it's given me instructions to do is goto where I've registered my domain name.
However, in this case, everything is pointed to SiteGround.
So I'm going to go ahead and click on copy cause I need to copy this bit of informationright here.
So I'll go ahead and I'm already logged intomy SiteGround account.
I'll click right here where it says website.
I'm going to clickon site tools right here, and it's going to pull up the site tools first.
I'm going toclick where it says domain.
Then I'm going to click where it says DNS zone editor, andhere's where I'm going to add that bit of information.
It's essentially what's known as a DNS record.
When I go back to the instructions.
You cansee that I need to create a TXT record.
It's going to be quite easy to do.
So here arethe different types of records.
I'll click on TXT cause that's what I need to create.
I'll go ahead and paste in the value right here.
Click on create and it says the TXT record has been created and you could seethe record is right here.
Now I know that was a little on the technical side.
However, if I didn't feel comfortable doing it, I could have reached out to SiteGround to supportto do that for me.
So if you don't feel comfortable adding this DNS record, you can just reachout to your web hosting companies support as well.
Give them that little snippet of code and ask them to add it to that domain for you.
Okay, I'm going to go back here.
Now it's time to click on the verify option.
Now, theway DNS records work, most likely it's not going to be verifiable, right this moment, I will probably have to click on verify later.
That's because when you make a change, sometimesit can take 24 to 48 hours to go into effect.
But it's okay.
It's not going to stop us fromimplementing rake math.
It's just this step will take a little while longer.
I'm goingto go ahead and click on verify and it, well, it actually verified it, so that's very good.
So now I'll go ahead and click on done and I guess that worked out for me.
I'llgo back here to Rank Math and I'm going to go ahead and click on where it says get authorizationcode.
I get this pop up right here.
I'll click on my accounts, I'll scroll down.
And I'llclick on allow, and here's my authorization code.
A click right here to copy it, and then I'll click here and I'll paste that in.
Then it'snow changed to say D authorized because it's fully authorized now.
So here in this dropdown, I want to choose the website that I have the profile in Google search console, and forme, it's right here.
Let's create a website because we just added it a second ago, andthen I'm going to click on save and continue to go to the next step.
Here's where we select the information that we want included in the site map for our website.
So first you can choose to have it on or off.
You definitely want the site map on.
It'sgoing to help the search engines to find all of the content that you want them to findon your website.
So I'm going to go ahead and scroll down.
Now, here's where I can choose the types of content that I want included by default posts, products and pages are selected.
If you don't have WooCommerce on your website, you won'tsee the products option right here.
It would just be posts and pages.
Then right here, we can choose if we also want the blog post categories included, and if you have WooCommerce, the product categories included.
I'm going to go ahead and click on save andcontinue on this step.
We have some search engine optimization tweaks.
These are morefor advanced users and the .
Optimal options are already selected.
So if you don't knowwhat the option is doing, I would strongly suggest leaving it set how it's set.
So forme, I'll scroll down and click on save and continue.
Now we've completed all the steps of this onboarding process right here.
We have anoption to enable auto update of the plugin.
I would definitely consider.
Turning thison to ensure that you always have the latest and most recent version of Rank Math.
Manytimes Google and the various search engines will make a drastic change and you would needan update to your SEO plugin, but some people have bad updating habits and don't updateever.
This will ensure your SEO rankings and yourRank Math plugin are always up to date and in sync.
So I'll go ahead and toggle thaton.
I'll scroll down here and then we're going to click on a setup advanced options.
Nowon this advanced option step for me, you're seeing two steps.
Step one right here.
Instep two right here.
If your website has more than one user accounton it, you're going to see a third step for user roles and this would enable you to controlwhich user role for WordPress has access to which areas and features of Rank Math.
Sincethis website only has one user account on it, I'm not being presented with that option.
It's taking me straight to redirection.
But if you had it, it would appear right beforeredirection.
Now, these two options here are if you want to monitor when someone goes toa page on your website, that simply doesn't exist.
You can enable this and it will trackthose visits and it will redirect them where you want them to go.
For me, I'm going to leave these two off because I won't be needing that.
So go ahead and clickon save and continue.
And now we're at some of the juicy features that come with RankMath.
And that is schema markup schema is how you tell search engines deeper informationabout the content on your website.
Let me give you a practical example.
HereI am on Google and there's a simple search for Apple AirPods.
I have the air pod pros.
I love those things.
And when you do this search, you're going to see lots of resultswith schema.
So let me scroll down a little bit and show you a few.
So here's a resultright here to Amazon.
And what do we have? We have a star ratingdisplaying right here.
We have the amount of reviews displaying right here.
Let's godown to the next result, which is best buy.
We have the same ratings, but this time there'salso the price of the product right here.
This is schema data.
And we can go down evenfurther.
Right here, we show that it's in stock.
Nowthere are lots of different schema types that are available to you.
There is a schema forevents.
There's schema for recipes, there, schema for products, and for software.
There'sa wide variety of schema that you can use to enhance how a search engine will displaythe info on your website.
Thus, giving them a deeper insight into whatthat content is about in the first place.
So let's go back and let's just scroll downand here you could probably get away fine leaving this the way that it is.
If you'rean advanced user and you have different content types on your website, you can link it upby default with different types of schema, but I'm going to show you how on a post bypost and a page by page basis, how you can set what that schema should be.
Let's look at these schema types that are currently available.
We have article book.
Course event, job posting, music product, recipe, restaurant, video person service andsoftware application.
But for now, I'm going to leave it as the default setting.
I'll scrolldown and I'll click on save and continue to complete the onboarding process.
It's going to take me right back here to the Rank Math setting page, and there's a couplethings to notice.
The first at the top, I'm being given a warning.
To only have one SEOplugin on my website.
Remember earlier, I have Yoast.
I need to go and disable and removeYoast, which I'll do in a moment.
Let's just take a quick glance at this page though.
I love that rank.
Math is a modular type of plugin, so it has other features that areavailable to it, but they're off by default and I can turn on only what I need.
When Ineed it.
So here are the different options that are available.
The different modulessorta speak for Rank Math, including advanced custom fields integration.
There's amp integration, BB press.
There's a variety of options here available to you, and all you have to do is toggle this switch to turn it on or to turn it.
You cansee some of these are already turned on and these are based upon that onboarding processthey were turned on.
So remember I mentioned the role manager because I only had one user.
It wasn't turned on.
Well, that's a good thing for performance.
But if I wanted to have additionalusers and control those rights of what each user's allowed to do, I would come here andenable the role manager.
And that's all that I'd have to do, so I'm going to go to pluginsand disable and delete Yoast and the redirection plugin, actually, it looks like they are automaticallydisabled for me by Rank Math, which is nice.
Let me also deactivate it.
This schema plugin.
I will go ahead and delete these three plugins right here and now that those are done, congratulations.
You have made it through the first part of this tutorial, which is completely installingand setting up Rank Math.
Now you can access any of those settings at any time right hereinside of the Rank Math settings panel under general settings right here.
So they are all listed out here in a very easy to get to.
So there's no concernif you want to change one of the settings at a later time.
Now, one of the things Ialways like to do is to make sure there's a link in the footer of my website to thesite map.
So in ranked math, I can click right here.
It says site map settings.
And then it's going to show me all of the settings for my website, including I can go in here and I can choose types of content that I don't want includedin the site map.
So I'm going to go ahead and open up the site map in a new tab andlet's take a look at how it looks.
Here is the site map.
So I like to take alink to this and put it in the footers.
So what I need to do is highlight the link tothe site map, put it in my clinic.
Board, so you can just right click and copy to putit in your clipboard.
Then I'm going to go to the menu settings of my website.
It's underappearance and then menus, and then I'm going to choose the menu for my footer, and I haveit right here where it says footer menu.
Let me show you what the front end of thewebsite looks like and you could see where it's going to go.
So when I scroll all theway down, I like to have a site map link down here in the footer.
Now, most WordPress.
Themeshave menu areas.
So you create a menu and you assign it to an area.
On this website, I already happened to have it pulled up right here, the footer menu, but if I wanted toput a link in the main menu, I could do that there as well.
So you could see it privacy and contact.
So what I need to do is click right here, itsays custom links, and right here for URL, I can paste the contents of my clipboard, which is the direct link to that site map.
And then for the LinkedIn.
I'm goingto enter in a site map.
Now that I've entered that I can click add to menu and there itis.
My site map is right there.
I will go aheadand place that right there.
After privacy and terms, click on save menu.
Then I'm goingto go to the front end of the website, do a refresh.
I'll scroll all the way down.
Oh, and there it is.
You can see a direct link.
To the site map is right here.
Nowlet's go back to our website.
I want to show you something else that's quitenice.
If you went through the step of connecting your website to the Google search console, there's an option here inside of rank mat that says search console.
You can click onthat and you could see data from your website that Google is collecting total clicks, totalimpressions.
Average click through rate, average position, total keywords.
You can see it all right here.
Just put right into your site.
It's very easyand convenient to come in here and be able to view it.
Which brings me to the last stepof this tutorial, which is two S.
optimize your individual pages and posts.
Let me show you how that's done.
It's quite easy.
So I'll go ahead and click on pagesand then I have a list of all of the pages right here on my website.
So I'll just goahead and choose the homepage right here.
Now each page post.
End product on your website.
We'll need some S E O information entered into Rank Math.
If you're coming over from a different SEO plugin, it was all brought across fillingout the SEO details of each page and post could not be easier than with Rank Math.
Ifyou look here on the top right, we're in the settings area, but if I click right here, it's going to take us to the SEO settings, but if I need to get back, I can click hereand get right back.
So let's click right here.
Sothese are going to be all the options available inside of Rank Math.
So first we have thesevarious tabs.
We have the general tab.
Then right here we have the advanced tab.
Thenright here we have this schema tab.
Remember I said you could choose the schema on eachpost or page? You can do it right here.
And then lastly, right here is the snippet editor, and this is going to show you what your.
Website willlook like if someone was to share it on Facebook or Twitter, and you could go in there andchange that and make the text, because then for each page or post that someone might shareas well as customize the sharing image and you would do it right there.
Let me go ahead and close this out and then click back onto the general settings.
Let'sgo through this from top to bottom at the very top.
You're going to see a preview, andthis is a preview of what your website's gonna look like when Google suggests it to someonethat's searching.
So this is how it's going to look.
So whenever you go to Google and do a search, in this case for Apple, it's the same informationthat's going to be.
Right here, and this description right here, you actually get to choose that.
And if you don't put something in Google's gonna choose something random and you're probablynot going to want that.
So let's click back.
What you could do righthere is click on edit snippet.
It's going to pull this up, and you could customize thisto whatever you want.
You could put a custom title here, you could put a custom description.
Right here, and then you're going to get a preview right here of what it's going to looklike.
So I would always suggest changing your titlesand trying to put in keyword phrases that you would want someone to search for in Googleand have your website be recommended.
So I'm going to go ahead and enter a different titleright here.
I've gone ahead and changed my title, and you could see it reflects up hereas well.
It says fitness gym, which is the keywordphrase I'm going after.
And then it says the city name.
Or County in this case, orangeCounty.
And then I'm putting that word fitness in a second time right there.
Now you're goingto get this meter, and you could see it right here in this meter is going to show you thecharacter count limitation.
So what this is saying is you can enter into60 characters and it looks like I've gone over by four characters and it's just givingme a visual indicator of that.
Now I can optionally cut the characters down, or I can just leavethem.
It's going to be fine.
Google just won't show those last four characters.
I'll just go ahead and click on the X to get out of there.
It's going to automaticallysave, and you can see the preview has changed right here.
So now let's talk about.
The focuskeyword feature, as well as how this score, which if you haven't noticed, hasn't goneup, is calculated.
So a focus keyword is the keyword phrase that you want this particularpage to be the focus of.
So in this case, I put fitness gym.
Now thisvideo is not meant to be a keyword tutorial video.
I'll have a link to something likethat in the video description down below, but I have to go over it because we're talkingthis SEO tool, and it's important to understand how these numbers are calculated.
So if Iput in here for a focus keyword fitness gym, what rank Matt does is it looks at all thecontent on that page, including what we just put in right here for the title and the descriptionthat will be shown in Google, and it looks for how often that phrase is used, and thenit makes a suggestions.
So right here you could see a green checkMark where I've done that, and you could see a.
X, where the focus keyword is not beingused in that way.
So right here, I've got a check Mark because I'm using it in the SEOtitle.
We did that a moment ago, and I'm getting a check because it's in the description, butI'm getting a bid reg X right here because it's not found in the URL.
It's a good idea to put your keyword phrases.
Inside the URL.
And so their suggestion aftersuggestion after suggestion.
Now, these are guidelines that I strongly suggest you payattention to.
See, if I want someone to go to Google and search fitness gym in orangeCounty, yet I don't use the phrase a fitness gym in orange County anywhere on that pageor with A enough repetition in certain locations.
It's not going to really communicate to a search engine that that page is about fitnessgyms in orange County.
So what this is doing is giving you guidelines and a checklist formaking sure that you're using your keyword phrase enough times.
On this particular pageso that there's a higher likelihood of a search engine understanding that's what the pageis about.
Anyway, so I'll have a more in depth tutorialabout these different options and keyword optimizing individual pages on your website.
But I just wanted to give you a quick overview.
I could go ahead and now click on updatesand it's updated.
Now here is the beauty of Rank Math in something very special.
If you're an elementary user, check this out.
You can click on edit with element or whichis where you are.
When you're creating the content on your page, and then take a lookat this.
On the left we have our normal elements tab.
We have our normal global tab, but wehave a tab that says SEO.
And guess what? All of those options that you just saw a momentago inside of the WordPress side of things.
They're also right here available to you whenyou're using Elementor.
So it will speed up your workflow.
From here, you can edit yoursnippet.
From here, you can add your focus keyword, and you can go through the variousSEO checklists to make sure you're using your keyword phrase in the right way in order tohave a higher likelihood of ranking for that keyword phrase.
So here we are back at the WordPress dashboard, and the last thing that we're going to lookat is.
Product SEO for your eCommerce store.
I have WooCommerce installed on this site, so I'm going to hover over to where it says products.
I'll click on all products, andI've already gone ahead and added a product here to demonstrate this.
So go ahead and click on the product and we can take a look at it.
So when you scrolldown, we're going to see the.
Rank Math, SEO settings for products.
Now, if you're usingany of the competing SEO products for WordPress, they don't even include this.
You're payinga lot extra just for this, but Rank Math gives it to you.
So we're going to see the familiar options where we can change.
What this page will looklike.
I am Google when they suggest it, and here's what it looks like, but you might noticesomething different in its schema.
This will automatically add the product schema for youbased upon the information that you have here for the product.
You can see it's his $99 and 99 cents and it's in stock.
Well, when I scroll up, that'swhat I've priced it at right here, and I have it listed as in stock.
It's automaticallypulling the description here from what was entered in right up here.
So it's automaticallydoing a lot of this work for you.
But if we click on where it says rich snippet righthere.
You can see that it's already selected therich snippet type of product.
And I want to give you a glimpse of what this is actuallygonna look like in Google.
So first, what we're wanting to do is grab the URL to theproduct right here.
So here's what it looks like on the front end of the website.
Oh, click right here, and I'm going to copy this URL to my clipboard.
Now Google provides a structure, data testing tool, and I'll include a link to this downbelow, or you can just do a Google search for it.
So what this allows you to do is entera URL right there.
Any URL and run a test on it.
So I'll click on run test and it'sgoing to go take a look at that page and see what schema is there and even give us an optionto preview it.
So you can see it's pulling all this schemainformation, including the description, the price, the URL, the category.
It's all beinglisted right here.
Check this out.
I can click on preview.
It's going to open up in a newtab and it will show you the preview of what it will look like.
In Google, and you cansee it's gonna show the price right here and it's going to show the product availabilityright there.
And this is how you're going to test the schemato see exactly what it will look like on Google when they list your pages and your products.
In the Google search engines when people are looking for what you have to offer, and asthey say, that is all folks.
