So we're getting free money from thegovernment.
Hey guys welcome back to our off-grid homestead here in North Idaho.
Iwant to show you a little bit about what we've been doing here on the homesteadand talk to you about what I think is a pretty important topic right we aregonna be getting free money from the governor is not free it's coming fromour tax dollars or they're printing more money or something like that it's it'sfree money we're getting right stimulus checks pretty much everybody's gonna begetting something what are we gonna do with that money that's the question thatI want to talk to you guys about today give you some ideas and tell you some ofthe things that we're thinking about here on our homestead but first of alllet me show you where we're at here Wow look at that giant pile of limbs againwe had a giant pile of limbs over here the other day right there we burned itthough now we've got another giant pile of limbs right here because we have beenclearing and clearing and clearing all right here why have we been clearingthat so that we can plant a garden it was always the idea to plant a gardenhere right berry trees over there orchard in this area but now it's alittle bit more important isn't it it is and because what is coming down the pikesee we don't know that's the thing we just don't know what's gonna behappening in the future are we heading towards a major economic downturn I meanwe're kind of already in one what is it gonna get even worse are we talkingGreat Depression type stuff right unprecedented unemployment and this islike still just the beginning right 14 million something like that people areunemployed companies possibly going out of business in the future because ofnobody going there nobody having money to spend on it because they're notworking and you think about a stimulus check right twelve hundred bucks twentyfour hundred bucks for a married family you got kidsfive hundred bucks per kid I mean is that really enough to to live on it'sbeen what like a month now that people haven't been working that'slike a month salary maybe right so I don't know it's gonna be difficultpossibly right I'm not a I'm not a prophet or the son of a prophet but itseems like things may be getting bad check it out another giant pile of limbshere to be burned this one will burn in the fall though this one will burn herehopefully in the next few days we've got more trees to clear we're gonna clearout this clump right here we're gonna thin this part right here we're gonnaclear this part out because that's where the shop garage is gonna go right thereand those need to go out of the way for safety reasons so that one the big onethere doesn't fall on it and number two so that if there's a forest fire itcan't jump into the shop garage very easily right you got to get that backyou want about 30 feet of clearance between your buildings and the forest sothat's what we're gonna be taking out those trees but let's get back to whatwe're talking about here what are we gonna spend that money on well I gotsome ideas I got some things that we're thinking about spending it on mosteverything that we're gonna talk about today I will put some resources for youdown in the description below so you can go ahead and check those out okay Idon't want to just leave you high and dry without any resources to go to tofigure this stuff out one of the things that we're really considering spendingsome of our stimulus money on is making the garden better than we would haveoriginally right we want we may need to have food stored away for this wintermore than what we already have because we just don't know what's gonna happenand so having a good garden a successful garden is something that's important andthere's a lot of snow out here still no snow over there snow galore a couplefeet of snow still over in here so let's just pull it over here and park for aminute how we're gonna do that what we're gonna have to purchase for ourgarden well probably some soil topsoil gardening soil soil amendments fencingfor the garden it's gonna be about a hundred by a hundred garden area and wegot to keep the deer the elk the Moose out of it and so we're talking a sixfoot at least tall fence all the way around 400 feet of sixtall fence that's not cheap another thing that we're thinking about ishomestead safety and security which would include firearms and ammunitionthere are some great places online to purchase that pretty inexpensively I'lllink to that down below but you know you go into Walmart and the stock there islimited they don't have a lot you go into some of your other store sportinggoods stores the stocks really limited right you want to buy two three fourthousand rounds you're gonna have to make several trips or you could justpurchase it online and have it delivered to your house right and so that's whatwe'll be doing is purchasing online I've got some great resources I'll put thosedown in the description below but what are some other things that maybe wouldbe a good idea to buy to stock up on right of course food I think if you havenot yet oh hey sorry guys that's up we've got to get out of the snow it'stoo soft and we're falling through if you have not yet stocked up alright butif you haven't stocked up on food yet still a good opportunity to do thatright I know some of the shelves are a little bit bare some of the things thatyou might like but you can still buy a ton of food at the grocery store I wouldstrongly consider doing that and building up a supply that could get youthrough winter another thing you could do is buy you know the prepackagedfreeze-dried food like for my Patriot supply link down in the description ifthat's something that you want to do there's plenty of time to do that buy itnow buy it with your stimulus check and then by the time it ships you'll be setyou won't even have to worry about 25 years small investment now set it asideput it in the closet stick it out in your garage and you're set rightwhat is another thing that would probably be good to think about how yougonna heat your house in the winter if you can't afford your electric bill orthe grid goes down how you gonna heat your houseyou might want to invest in a wood stove put a wood stove and put aside some woodhave a backup heat source for your home so that your family can be warm nextwinter alright that would probably be a super good idea to look into backuppowers another really important thing all right with our garden we invested ina large deep freezer we're going to freeze a lot of that and we don't haveto worry about the grid going down and not being able to power our deep freezeit because we're off-grid right we use our solar panels and our batteries to dothat the deep freezer would be a good idea but are you gonna have a way topower it if the grid goes down alright so you're gonna need a backup generatoror some solar panels and batteries to run that stuff when the power goes outor if the power goes out right so solar on your house right a couple thousandwatts of solar panels a couple thousand watt inverter and you know we run hoursoff of for 200 amp power batteries 220 amp power batteries we'd like to upgradethat to four four hundred and some-odd 420 430 watt hour or amp hour batteriesand that'll give us a lot more capacity but how are you gonna do it right howare you gonna power your house if the grid goes down for an extended period oftime I don't know that's something you gottaanswer it and so there's a lot of different things to think about andwe're getting money from the government how should we spend it well if we've gotbills to pay we got a pair of bills right we justgotta pay our bills but if we don't have bills maybe you still have your jobmaybe you're sitting pretty well maybe we want to think about investing it inthe future and taking care of our family and things like that so we're gettingthis money from the government guys what should we be spending it on put yourideas down in the comments below because I know that I'm not thinking
