when you're in quarantine with your spouse and a toddler my fiancee my nine-year-old son my roommate my boyfriend my husband my husband things can feel crazy so fast so I'm stuck in quarantine stuck is the wrong word I'm in quarantine with my roommate Neal the thing that's helped
the most is treating our weak days like as normal as days as possible so we're not doing that whole like check in with each other how are you doing today like can I help you with anything like no my fiance and I work on opposite ends of the
apartment and we only come together for breakfast or lunch and for dinner having an office to myself is my biggest hack my husband also works from home he works in the basement while I work in the Attic and our kids are on the main floor in between us
you're a grown-up you're dealing with this you have work to do I'm a grown-up I'm dealing with this I have work to do we'll talk in the evening once we're both off the clock I think it's nice for us to have a morning routine too right yeah I
actually like putting real clothes on like taking the shower and stuff like waking up and having like a cup of coffee and like feeling like you're about to go to the office it's just nice to like have a couple things to do in the morning before we really
get our day started I actually have a unique situation where currently I'm quarantine with my husband three-year-old son and myself here at a hotel in London I like many of you I'm currently working from home also working from home is my husband and my nine-year-old son doing school
work from home one key thing is that every day twice a day we do a complete reset of the house after she goes down for her nap we put away all her toys and after she goes down for the night we do a second reset once we finally
get a moment to ourselves we're able to enjoy a clean space it's easy on the eyes lowers anxiety it's like making your bed every morning my son is full of energy and if I'm working he really doesn't understand what that means cuz he likes to play my husband
does an amazing job with taking our son because I'm on the clock much later because we're five hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time our thing is to just make sure that I can get my work done my son can still get some playtime in and try to be
as creative as possible with doing as much as we can possibly do in this little small thing what we try to do is take turns working from different locations so that we can move around the house make us feel like we're getting a different view what you'll sometimes
see throughout the day is me here working and then when you look this way a little bit you'll see my son reading his book in the office chair we take turns sometimes I get the good chair sometimes he gets the good chair I think it's also important that
we like have our own things to do individually that we don't always have to be doing something together necessarily and I've been playing a lot of animal crossing in antenna switch and you've been playing a lot of Sims for we sometimes watch different shows we watch different movies
we don't have to do everything together all the time sometimes he'll go to bed earlier I'll go to bed later sometimes he'll wake up earlier all wake up later just so you can get an hour or two by yourself I think it's helpful to just like be able
to have your own time to kind of just like get inside your own brain and be creative and have fun and not necessarily have to like talk to anyone and the last thing I would ask is that you don't have a very busy day I cannot recommend enough
cuddling and taking a nap in the middle of the day
