Gokce and I didn't know what to expectwhen we first landed but the city captured our imagination from the startin the three days that we were there five things stood out for us as to whywe absolutely loved Melbourne on our first day in Melbourne we knew we wanted to checkout the local food and while we were hesitant at first enough peoplerecommended we try kangaroo so we headed over to Degraves street to give it a go I am actually very excited about it Please dont judge us for eating Kangoroo because we actually love kangoroos Obviously, coming all the way to Australia we couldnt help ourselves and we just wanted to try Kangoroo meat we ordered a kangoroo burger at this very popular place Metro Burger! Metro Burger! Thank you Though, I think weboth like different burgers I actually like lamb a little bit more got alittle spicy sauce with it and Gokce actually like kangaroo bit more it'sdefinitely gamey chewy I like both the fries are amazingtoo here so highly recommend Metro Burger on Degrave Street in Melbourne This really reminds me of Istanbul yep this looks a bit like Kadikoy forsure and like, it really has a Kadikoy vibe with the art, with the streets with amazing coffee resturants it really really makes me feel like home, I kinda like it After the second World War, Italian immigrated here they brought a veryimportant thing with them which is Expresso Machine! if you evermake it to Melbourne look for the black sign right behind us and you'll find itDukes there's a few of them I believe and they roast their own coffee bean sothey have really great coffee it was really good! on the way to our hotel from the airport we passed by Melbourne's Chinatown and we knew we wanted to try it out for dinner on our first night Since we are around the Chinatown obviously there are so many different kinds of Asian food here Embarrassingly, we don't know what kind of Asian food this is But we are going to go try because Yelp has better views on this So Steve ordered for entire family We came to this place where you buy your food based on grams and Steve decided to buy like over a Kg No no it's under a Kg OK! Close to a Kg I mean, can you see the amount of red pepper they added? They asked me how much I wanted and I said Super Hot! Obviously, but.

Woof! we love the food so much we were excitedto return to the world's second oldest Chinatown on our last night in Melbourne totry the dumpling this time That's why we are here! We ordered the shrimp spring roll and then we got the spicy chicken and mushroom dumplings and then we also got the spicy soup with dumplings! It is embarrassing but we inhaled the whole food we ordered more, actually, we orderedmore spicy chicken dumplings they're really that good we had heard many great things about Australia's wine so on our last nightbefore leaving we met up with our lovely friend Senem in Carlton Melbourne's Little Italy to try some out! We are here in Melbourne! We are here with our really good YouTube friends, Senem.
She has a Turkish YouTube channel, its called “Senems Melbourne Diary” Oh I love that how you say that with an American accent! It sounds so much better! If someone wants to visit Melbourne where should they visit for sure See, thats a tough question I would say like whole Victoria? I would definitely say theGreat Ocean Road tour which you guys did it, amazing I would say Yarra Valley, especially for winery wine tour and drinking all those wines.
Third one, I would say definitely go with the Wilson Prom and do camping at least one or two nightsyou will be amazed, I promise Before getting to MelbourneGokce's friend told us about some amazing Riverside spots to check outunfortunately the weather wasn't on our side most of the time so I'm verydisappointed because of the rain, actually there is no table that is not wet.
But if you ever come to Melbourne, this is a great spot actually right on the water, definitely come check it out! All my Turks, you know it! Do you want some Mama's Gozleme? They usually have free screenings of movies apparently here as well as sporting eventsduring the summer months and this is federation square was built in 2002 tocelebrate Australia's 100-year anniversary of independence from theBritish Gokce found this amazing rooftop barthat called Transit on the river in federation squareit's called transit It is so amazing! I always have a tendency to look up when we are like exploring cities and I always get lucky with the best rooftop It has all the best Australia skyline siteslike Eureka Tower so come check it out and we got a great scenery and we're gonnawatch the sunset from here it's sort of I was a beautiful day, I had a great time Me too! OMG! This is how it feels like when it is not raining in Melbourne! We really enjoyed walking around the central business district and getting lost down the many different land waveslike Hosier lane we were super impressed by how easily Melbourne mixesit's art culture into its business district we also found a way into a fewof some of Melbourne's oldest arcades or shopping lanes but didn't have enoughroom in our bags to buy it it looks a bit like the indoor mall in Milan I was gonna say, I swear! this is really beautiful so we made it to Gokce's favorite area in Melbourne theshopping district But we cant do shopping because we are travelling with a backpack! so we're just gonna look and not shop but uh This is terrible! This is such a tease for me! You know, I am like getting nothing out of it! This tea room is actually the oldest tenant in this entire passage Look at this beautiful place, we are hoping to come back here for tea and dessert later? I am trying to convince Steve so he will take me here! if he had wanted to hop on the tramsthey're entirely free within the CBD but walking everywhere was really easy whichwe really appreciated honestly so we may get a little bit of flack for this, butwe enjoy the free walking tour and learning about Melbourne's Gold Rush historyand its infamous criminals Ned Kelly so actually Gokce is the expert of thesefree walking tours and is the one pretty much told me, let's do this! Yeah, I am not an expert but I did this in Milan with my sisters before and we had a great time! It's just like an amazing way to explore the city and have some understanding of their cultural places and a story behind Many many of these houses and their beautiful architecture and their iron lace work anywhere within the first couple of rings of suburbs here in Melbourne so this walking tour has actually beenpretty cool they teach you the history of Melbourne and all that stuff, its reallycool in green city and you know if he would have necessarily discovered allthis by ourselves and in our time over here from the moment we landed at the airport people were so friendly! even the police came over and said “Sorry, you can't video record here.
There's actually a fine of $20.
” and he didnt even fine us! He just said “Sorry” Everywhere you looked Melbourne was welcoming to all people and finally we rented a car and I drove on the left side for the first time in my life and we took a day trip out tothe Great Ocean Road I almost went to the other side to sit, but Steve is sitting as a driver, look at that I am treating you as if you have never driven before No I haven't driven, this is like bizarre and I am only driving on the one way street, so its not even that bad.
