today we're at the Dagashia game museumDagashia it is traditional snack store for kids.
this game store is not known tomany travelers but it is very famous locally.
many famous actors and comedianscome here.
and also this place rents the games to movie studios, so that they canuse them in their movies.
let's jump inside and we'll show you some of themachines.
yes welcome to this week's video feel like aTokyo local by subscribing and hit the bell notification so you catch all theupdates.
we had to film the audio on this in post, because these machines are veryold and they still generate electricity from magnets rubbing together.
so there'sa very loud buzzing in the background.
so first off I want to introduce thismachine because it's my most favorite.
when I was a kid I always begged my mom”give me 100 yen” and then I played a tons of times.
so it's really simple.
justdo stone, paper, scizzers.
Then if I win, they start the roulette to decided howmany coins I can get.
and the sound is really interesting if I lose.
they saidZuco (Falling over).
alright so the second type of game they have are these peg based games.
and your goal is to take a small metal ball launch it up through the variousobstacles and get it into the ending hole.
but there are holes you can land onthat say Furidashi, which means to reset at the beginning.
and also Pazureh, whichis you lose.
and there's all sorts of different obstacles you can see this oneis like an American football player.
they also have a soccer one.
they have anothersoccer one where you use one hand to control the end goal and one hand topull the trigger.
this one was kind of hard for Nami because she had to winthat one twice in a row, and actually the ball falls through so quickly you don'treally have time to turn it.
and these games are only ten yen so you can playfor a long time.
that's less than ten cents USD.
this one was really cool thisis a gundam wing machine there are two players that you're controlling and oneis indicated with the blue path one is with the white path.
and every turn youdo the roulette and the roulette has four pieces for either advancing aplayer or moving a player back.
and depending on the space that you land onif the two players end up in the same space at the same timeone of them will kill the other player.
so your goal is to advance the goodGundam robots all the way to the end.
okay this game would be illegal inAmerica.
this is ridiculous.
this is straight-uproulette for kids.
I don't understand how this is allowed, but you place your betson various vehicles and you can place bets on multiple vehicles, and dependingon how much you bet on a particular vehicle, if the ball lands in that space, you get a huge bonus.
you can see the purple one.
the max bonus is getting ahundred twenty coins back.
I don't know how this is legal this would never flyin America, but apparently kids in Japan can play roulette.
Nami won a huge jackpot.
a fatty eight-coin combo.
and then of course they had the classic Mario Brothers game.
it was madein 1983.
this is one of the first games I ever owned.
one of my dad's co-workershad a son that was going to college so she gave us the old NES system and I gotto play Mario Bros all the time.
so I actually did really good at this game.
that was definitely the biggest bang for our buck that we got out of many of thegames.
and then last up is climber this game is really difficult.
this game isjust really difficult.
you have to use the momentum of the ball to roll downonto the next platform but all the platforms are tilted down towards holesthat you can fall in.
so I'm pretty sure I've played this game when I was a kidbut I can find no trace of it online.
remember when you started you said “oh Ican reach it” yeah yeah I thought I was a lot more confident about winning thatgame.
it was a lot harder than I expected.
