Kachora Lake & Sok Nala Skardu | Travel Pakistan

As per today’a plan, I will visit Sok Nala from Shangrila which offers beautiful scenes.

If you want to do the track, your sweat will not go in vain.

Likewise, you can reach Kachora Lake After this, my next destination will be Kachora Lake, which is 3km away.

But you can also hire a jeep which will take you to both these places in PKR2000 to PKR2500.

We will have this food at Kachora Lake, read it.

It was an amazing view, so we have stopped here.

Our guide, who is also our driver, has told us that the bridge is broken He will drop us on this side of the bridge and we will get another vehicle from the other side of the bridge.

It will take 5 to 6 minutes to reach Kachora Lake.

It is a dead end where people park their vehicles as you can see a line of vehicles.

People hire vehicles to reach Kachora Lake.

Let's see what we are going to do.

Local residents are telling us that this year the glacier melted so swiftly that the foundation of the bridge are cracked and for the safer end, people are not passing on vehicles.

It is under repair which will finish in a couple of weeks.

Plan is changed a little as our guide has informed us that Sok Nala is nearby which is a beautiful place, we can visit that too, we have hired a vehicle.

We will visit Sok Nala first and then Kachora Lake will be our next destination.

He says that it is a good place and we should visit it so we are taking chance.

The aqua color of the water has stopped me on my way to Sok Nala as it seemed to be a cool place.

The water color was aqua, I don't know if my camera will show you the same color.

But it looked a good place so I have stopped here.

The path leading to Sok Nala is very beautiful and the crystal clear turquoise water and small streams falling into the Nala by crossing road, are creating music.

Less sunshine is beneficial.

Water color turns dramatic blue.

Very few people know about Sok Nala that is why there is almost no rush of people.

As soon as you reach Nala, the scene opens, mountains appear on the other side of the Nala which gives it a valley view.

(A kid telling names of his friends in local language) Children are sitting here after bathing in cold water.

Why are you sitting here? We are freezing.

They are freezing that's why they are sitting here.

The silence has created such a peaceful atmosphere that you can sit and enjoy nature as long as you want.

Luckily, the sun has gone beyond the mountain and the light is perfect for photography.

In summar, you can take bath and catch fish.

There is no arrangement of spending night here because hotels of Kachora and Shangrila are nearby.

I was taking pictures of this guy who has caught a trout.

How have you caught it? With bare hands.

It’s very unusual, how did you get hold of it? It was swimming near a stone, I caught it.

Do I have to dance like this? I have worn Chitrali cap but do not know how to dance.

After taking left turn from Kachora Bridge, we went to Sok Nala, now we will take right turn to reach Kachora Lake.

Jeep drops you at Upper Kachora village from where you set on foot and reach Kachora Lake in 10 to 15 minutes.

Our jeep has stopped and now here is a track of 5 to 10 minutes.

Our guide and driver is leading us.

Now I am on track and the stones have been marked to guide the tourists.

After leaving jeep, you have to walk through this village It is a simple, beautiful and peaceful village.

There are tees, fruits and flowers and one feels like resting here.

There is another way as well but it is of mud and there is moisture in it, so it will be slippery.

The path with stones is better because there steps and it is easier for females to walk on.

Now we have reached one of the most beautiful lakes of Pakistan Kachora Lake.

Most of the lakes come into existence due to melted water of the glaciers but this is a natural lake which does not depend upon glaciers.

The glares from hard sunlight are making photography difficult so I am waiting.

I am waiting for a small piece of cloud to cover the sun, let's wait and see.

I have to leave by 5 or 5:30 so I am praying for clouds or the sun may turn gentle.

We will have lunch here and enjoy boating.

That water bottle and thermopore sheet are being used as marks by the boatmen and the depth of the water here is 70 feet.

When water subsides, the lake gets empty to this level.

This guy is swimming in 70 feet water which is very dangerous.

He must be expert.

Right after these boats, there is steep and the depth from this point to that thermopore sheet is 70 feet.

They have been tied underneath.

There are arrangements to spend night here, you can have all types of food and the good news is cellular signals are available as well.

You can find motor boat, conventional boat and jet boat are available on Kachora Lake.

If you want to take a bath in the lake, you must learn how to swim before you jump in because it is very deep.

My experience at Sok Nala was amazing and I recorded a lot of videos of activities.

Kachora Lake is a very beautiful lake which offer 2, 3 shades of green with the help of sunlight Unfortunately, the sunlight is still hard that is why I am leaving because I have to make it to Skardu city by 5pm.

Hunza is famous for its literacy rate but I am watching a lot of schools here and there are messages about child education on street walls.

I have just visited a big school where a great number of students was studying.

My day 2 comes to an end and I have come to this side of the bridge.

I have called my driver to pick me.

I waited a lot but the sun has gone behind the mountain just now that is why I could not have professional level pictures of the lake.

Sok Nala made it a wonderful day, we got very tasty potato chips, hotel was fine and people were really welcoming.

My guide has told me that the under construction Gilgit Skardu road affected the tourism in the area.

If you want to travel on this road, you should set off right after Fajr prayer because construction starts a little late in the morning or you should travel at night because there is less traffic If you have family, you should really travel early in the morning.
