You center your body along this blue line Kurume is famous for kyudo (Japanese archery), maybe even number one in all of Japan Normally in kyudo you will aim for a target 28 meters away, but there is an archery range in Kurume where the target is placed 60 meters away There are only some three archery ranges in all of Japan where the target is placed 60 meters away Kurume's archery range has positions for as many as 12 archers to shoot at the same time Making it the largest archery range in the country, so maybe that's why it's known as the number one spot for archery Alright, let's try shooting! You always end with a word of gratitude Now let me tell you about yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) In Kurume, anything that is put on a skewer and grilled is known as “yakitori” In particular, Kurume's specialty is something called “makimono”, or yakitori wraps For example, mushrooms or cheese wrapped in bacon or asparagus wrapped in sliced pork These kinds of yakitori are also very popular among women and children In Kurume, yakitori restaurants are seen as family-friendly restaurants Kurume is known for its vegetables and chicken.

The area has a lot of chicken farms, so you can have somereally good fresh chicken here During the 1980's there was a period when many former company employees would quit their jobs to open their own yakitori restaurants Today yakitori is served at many izakaya pubs, as well Let's give it a try!
