hello and welcome to a my sdccd training video on how to register for classes once you log into my ste CCD you want to click on your colored student dashboard once there you want to focus in on the my classes section or page of it here there's a
lot of some key information lets you know if you have any holds I let you know when your registration date and time is if we do not have a registration date in time you can look to find out when open enrollment is by going to the calendar set
deadlines and clicking on the semester in which case you'll see that open registration begins on August 5th otherwise you'll be able to see our registration appointment right here to add classes there's two ways to do it you can need add classes to the online class search or you
can add classes by clicking on enroll and clicking on add we'll be focusing on this method today so from here there's two ways you can do it either can click on enroll and click on add or you can click on lacked classes and click on enrollment add classes
as well so once you click on that it's going to ask you for what semester you want to register classes for in which case I'm going to be picking the fall 2019 semester if there's only one semester that's available to register for it's going to take you straight
to the next page instead which is basically adding classes to your shopping cart so from here there's two ways to do it you can either add classes but if you already know the class number put the number here and just click on enter or you can look up
classes based upon the class search based upon your education plan which is my requirements or you could based upon your planner which is the student educational plan that you might have worked with with your counselor so I'm going to go ahead and click on class search and we'll
then click on search from here it's going to prompt me for some search criteria there's many ways you can do this you can check out our how to search classes video if you need to more details but to keep it simple I'm going to look for a Mesa
College and accounting so I'm gonna pick Mesa College in the county and I know for example that I need accounting 116 a so in the course number I'm going to type in 116 a and hit Search when you do that the system will show you a list of
the classes that meet your search criteria in which case there are 12 sections of accounting 116 a day in Mesa College several key takeaways on this page one is one look at the status column just lets you know if the class is full open or closed so if
we see a green circle that means the class is open so you guys to tell about the legend up here at the top that means there are seats available and you can go ahead and register into that class if you see a class with a yellow triangle that
means the class is full but you could put yourself on the waitlist and if you see a class that has a blue square that means that class is closed and also the waitlist is full as well so I'm going to go ahead and add this class here I
could do so by clicking on the select button one keen thing to note is that if you do need to see the class details for the class you need to click on the class number here so for example if I was looking for this class I will click
on the class number and this will take me to the class details page this is important because it does have very important information for you and lets you know where the class is located if there's any Roman requirements such as prerequisites co-requisites or advisories and lets you know
if it's degree applicable or transferable how many seats are available course descriptions required course materials if there's any class notes related to the class of let's you know there'll be a class notes section so this is all very important information if you need to know the deadline dates
for the class you can click on the little calendar icon up here and it's going to take you to the specific deadline dates for the specific class so for this class example I can add this class by August 30th so I'm going to click on return to go
back and then I'll click on View search results to go back to my search results page you can also click on the icon here to look at the course deadlines as well for that particular class so I'm going to go ahead and add this class right here so
I'm going to look at some look at 1 0 0 7 I'm gonna click on the select button it's going to take me to the Preferences page so this is again we're going to see some wiki enrollment information lets me know that the class is open now on
the right hand side here you're going to see some options that may be available to you if the class only has a couple of seats available I would recommend that you check the waitlist of crosses full that way by the time we do process your shopping cart if
class is full at least put you on the waitlist if you do have a permission number or we used to call ad codes from your instructor you would actually put that number here and then if you do have the option to change the grading option either to a
letter grade or pass no pass you can do that here as well so if you're not gonna make any changes or if you already made the changes and you're happy just click on the next button and that's gonna add it to your shopping cart now keep in mind
just because it's in your shopping cart doesn't mean you're registered in the class yet so you can still add more classes so I'm actually going to go ahead and I'm going to add an English class so let's say Mesa College I'm gonna add English and I'll add English
101 and I'll click on search and similar to before I'm going to look around and see if there's an English one-on-one class that meets my criteria so which case they're 113 in which 101 sections looks like most oh here's one that's open so I'm gonna go ahead and
click on select so click this is the online class as indicated by Web and go do the same process this one I actually do have the option to switch to grade it or pass no pass poly did is graded and I'll click on next I now have two
classes on my shopping cart and I think I'm happy with both these so I'm going to go ahead and click on proceed to step 2 of 3 so this is the checkout process so this is how you actually register into those classes that you put in your shopping
cart it'll take you to the confirmation page just to make sure to verify these are the classes you want to register for and if so all I to do is click on finish enrolling and the system is now going to check for prerequisites co-requisites time conflicts so as
you can see I was able to get into one class with this check box I do see then I was able to get into accounting 116 a but it's given me an error message for English 101 because I've already taken this course so when you do see an
error message it'll tell you the reason why it was not able to read you in the class in this case I already took English 101 and I'm not able to take it again could also because of time conflicts and also because of holds if you have questions about
the error message please contact the admissions office or you can contact us at the help desk at six one nine three eight eight six etcetera or email us at my help @ sdccd dot edu just to verify that these classes are added to your schedule you can leader
click on my class schedule or you can go back to your college dean dashboard by clicking on the home button up at the top and then click on a college student dashboard again and then from here when I look at the my classes pagelet or suction I'll see
the only the accounting 116 a class was added so it gives me confirmation status I'm enrolled now this is all I'm going to do today I can go ahead and click on update charges here this will update my student account so it recalculates my tuition and I should
now see that I owe some money so one hundred ninety nine dollars and sixty five cents if I did have the bog or CC PG waiver it'll apply that already but otherwise I can't go ahead just click on make a payment here to make a payment so that
concludes our training video on how to register for classes please check out our other videos and thank you so much
