Very good day and welcome back to Lanttimatkat channel Now that we haven't been able to travel and you might get bored at home sometimes So I'm probably not the only one who has watched quite a lot of Netflix during the past month or two I think that Netflix
works as a good escape from the everyday life You can travel virtually to some destinations And that is why I like to watch series that tell about destinations I'd like to go to or to return back to Today I'd like to tell you about series, documentaries and movies
that make me feel like I wished I was there See those views, try those foods and experience all of this Everyone's list is different And your favorites can be totally different from mine But here are my personal travel suggestions on Netflix My favorites takes us to Asia and
especially to Japan Let's start from Tokyo Terrace House is a Japanese reality TV show The 5th season is currently being filmed in Tokyo and aired right now Besides Tokyo they have filmed the series in Hawaii and Karuizawa in Japan This TV series follows the everyday life of three
women and three men living as roommates They live their normal everyday life, fo to work or school Meanwhile they're also usually trying to find their love The housmates can have other motivation to stay at the house as well The series is calm and watching it makes you feel
like you're part of the everyday life in Japan Terrace House is very addictive and there are several seasons available on Netflix So if you're planning on starting to watch it make sure to empty your schedule for the whole weekend Because you can't wait to watch the next episode
My favorite is the season filmed in Karuizawa, which is the previous one I loved it because you got to see different kind of Japan Away from Tokyo To the countryside of Japan Karuizawa is very idyllic and relaxing place And the everyday life there was calm and authentic Because
of this series I visited Karuizawa myself And saw the places shown on this series I even made a video of my trip there so go check it out This next series takes us all over Asia to enjoy street food Street Food Asia tells us a story behind street
food in different Asian cities This series introduces us to legendary street food chefs and best street foods You shouldn't watch this series hungry Watching this series you can almost smell and taste all the amazing street food And you'll most definitely want to put all of these street food
stalls on your list of places to visit Next we'll travel to an interesting destination: North Korea Crash Landing on You is a drama series telling a story of a successful South Korean woman accidentally crash landing in to North Korea She ends up living at the home of a
high ranking North Korean soldier Like many of the South Korean drama series, this forbidden love story is full of drama There's rarely drama about North Korea available So it's a rare opportunity to get to peek what the everyday life in North Korea might be like This series has
great actors And even though sometimes it feels like there might be a bit too much of drama The story kept me holding And I was entertained until the very end Now that Netflix has many Studio Ghibli animation films available I thought if this list could fit one of
those Most of them I can recommend The stories are great and they're gorgeous visually But which movie makes me feel like I'd love to travel and spend time there And this film is Totoro Totoro is an animation film where we get to follow everyday life in the countryside
of Japan Well, “everyday life” Totoro tells a story of two young girls and their father and their encounters with forest spirits The scenery is realistic and the house where they live is a place I'd love to spend time in Of course this movie is fantasy, but the setting
for the film is realistic And watching this makes me feel like I'd love to return back to Japanese countryside as soon as possible This next series takes us outside of Asia as well But this series is visually so beautiful that I had to include it in this list
Tales by Light is a documentary series that follows photographers and tells stories behind the photos The series isn't only based in Asia so you get to experience other parts of the world as well The stories are visually beautiful and many of them are also touching And they make
you understand the destinations beyond the surface This series is simply gorgeous And I love that they don't only tell about or show the destinations but they also tell human stories And this is what makes this series very interesting I had this next movie on my films to watch
list for a long time because the name was somewhat off-putting Crazy Rich Asians is a romantic comedy based in Singapore And a story of two New Yorkers with Asian heritage who have a different backstory For someone who has already visited Singapore this film has many familiar locations But
for someone who hasn't been there yet it might work as a nice virtual trip and travel inspiration This film was a positive surprise for me And it was very entertaining I've visited Singapore two times And I liked watching this because it was so Singaporean And I felt like
I was back there once again Next we'll travel back to Japan and the Japanese cuisine Samurai Gourmet is a story of a newly retired Japanese business man Who tries to find things to do with his new spare time He ends up tasting different kinds of foods in different
restaurants Besides getting to know delicious Japanese food you get to experience the feel of Japanese suburbs I liked this series because it introduces Japanese cuisine in an interesting way And you also get to follow the everyday life of a Japanese retired man It is a very likable story
This next film takes us to an alternative reality and it is also politically involved Okja is a story of a girl who raises a genetically manipulated superpig with his grandfather in the mountains of Korea In 2007 the CEO of the fictional Mirando Corporation, Lucy Mirando, announces that they're
starting to raise superpigs In intention of effectively feed the humans The first superpigs are sent around the world to be raised And one of them ends up in Korea Even though the setting is alternative reality This movie takes us to beautiful and green Korean mountains Besides that this
movie takes us to Seoul and New York This movie is by the same director as the award winning Korean movie Parasite That's an amazing film as well so if you get a chance do check that out And let's return back to Japan once again Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories
is a fictive series It is based in a small izakaya or a Japanese pub in Shinjuku, Tokyo The pub is only open from midnight to 7 am in the morning The series tells stories of people visiting the pub at night The storytelling in this series is very atmospheric
And it makes myself feel like I'd want to be one of the regular customers Sitting there every night listening to the interesting stories and enjoying nice meals This was my list of the Netflix content that takes me to a virtual trip in Asia Do you have something to
add on this list? Do comment below and let's discuss more Thank you for watching and I'll see you again next time Bye! Watch more and subscribe
