Next Year Travel Prices Low because of Coronavirus

travel plans for people around the world have been interrupted as we know by the pandemic but right now may be the time to rebook your trip for next year because prices are low and what about refunds for your cancelled trip this year Elizabeth Israel joins us this morning

she is the president of Avondale travel good morning thanks for joining us good morning thank you for having me so let's start if we can first with cancellations are any Airlines actually refunding customers so yes if you're can't if your flight has been cancelled by the airline you're

most likely eligible for a refund however if you proactively cancel your flight prior to the airline canceling it then you're most likely eligible for a future travel voucher okay so with the vouchers what if people don't want to use them since a lot of them they expire before

a traveler feels safe enough to get on a plane and fly somewhere do they have any options a lot of the vouchers are actually good for a year or two depending on the airline so if you're looking to travel and who doesn't want to travel I mean things

come up you know you have different circumstances that you might need to use your your airline ticket so there are different different situations but it's always good to have in your back pocket I understand that everyone loves a cash refund but be patient be patient with the airlines

because when they do decide to cancel the flight that's when you're most eligible for a refund so what suggestion do you have if because I've been hearing that just even trying to call and get through because so many may be canceling or rescheduling do you suggest kind of

just waiting on hold and calling the airline directly or is it better to to write them obviously monitor the situation this is this is why I can't stress enough use a travel advisor because we're monitoring everything we get up-to-date reports on who's traveling what airlines are canceling up-to-date

policies we're constantly getting up-to-date news and keeping our clients informed if you do decide to book on wine or directly with the air line again monitor the situation call the airline I know it's a long long long long holds everyone you know is in the same boat unfortunately

with all of this going on yeah be patient you have to pack your patience I hear ya so let's talk about travel now it are you seeing really low prices you know what are you suggesting then to your clients about rebooking so now is a great time to

rebook because think about it everybody that's been displaced or that their flights have been cancelled or the trips have been canceled it for the spring they're holding onto those vouchers they're holding on to that okay we want to rebook when is a good time now is a great

time we're we're seeing a lot of rebooking x' for late September excuse me late August early September all the way into early 2021 and even 2022 so tails hotels though are they I mean they you know are you able to book with them since they're not quite sure

exactly when they'll be able to open yes yes so they're they do have staff on hand I would also just call again use a travel advisor this is where we come into to play because we have those ends and those those relationships with these suppliers and we're getting

up-to-date information from them and cruises do you think they were gonna take a little longer than to rebound or safe to rebook maybe into next year not necessarily this summer so we're constantly booking into next year in 2022 I know Viking River Cruises has a one of their

sailings has actually sold out for 2022 which is fantastic news I know Avalon is adding adding sailings so there are a lot of lot of people getting ready for a big boom because everyone's stuck at their house for the most part and or should be at their house

staying safe and is ready to get out and travel so now is a great time to book because all of these people like I said that have canceled reservations are going to rebook for the future so why not get ahead of that right there will be a mad
