Hi everyone, my name is Dhiren and welcome to my channel.
In today’s episode, I’ll tell you ‘things to do in a day’ in Pattaya (with family) But before that, please SUBSCRIBE to my channel and don’t forget to LIKE this video 🙂 My first point is Pattaya Beach.
Now, this may not be as exotic as the Coral Island.
.
.
but in case if you’re short on time….
… you can spend time here & indulge yourself in some water-sports activities.
You can also chill in the shack.
But mind you, the seats are paid.
Usually, the mornings are less crowded.
.
.
but as the day passes, you’ll see more & more tourists.
So, if you’re planning to come here, then my advice is to come in the morning or in the evening… Evenings are going to be super crowded but it will be worth it.
afternoons can be pretty crowded & humid.
One thing that I like about this beach is the view.
On one side you’ll see pristine blue water and on the other side, you can see Pattaya skyscrapers.
You’ll see a lot of foreigners enjoying taking a sunbath.
It’s funny how they crave for tan-skin and we crave for fair-skin tone.
You cannot come to Thailand and not indulge yourself in retail therapy.
Most people shop from Bangkok, but Pattaya is also a great place for shopping.
From high-end malls to street vendors you’ll find every kind of retailer here.
I am standing in front of one of the biggest malls here – Central Festival.
If you think this is the only mall on ‘Beach Road’ then you’re wrong.
You’ll find tons of malls & other retailers selling all sorts of things… And when I say all sorts of things, I mean ALL SORTS OF THINGS 😉 You’ll also see a lot of cafes & Indian restaurants here… I may have seen at least 40 Indian restaurants today So, if you’re craving Indian food or if you’re a vegetarian, you don’t worry at all.
Now I am standing right opposite the famous (or infamous) walking street.
It’s funny how this place was totally lit last night.
.
.
and now it looks like an abandoned alley.
Just after walking street is Pattaya jetty (or deck).
You can get a ferry for Coral Island from here….
So, I’ve finally reached Coral Island and surprisingly this island is huge.
You can easily spend a day or two here….
So, there are 3 ways to reach here from Pattaya.
First is to take a tour package This will cost you anywhere between THB 1000-3000 The package includes your transfer and some water-sports activities.
Second is to take a speed boat which will take 10-15 mins and will cost you THB 200 (one way) (this does not include any activity) The third way is to take a ferry (scheduled) which will cost you THB 30 (one way) Once you reach here, you can decide what water-sports activities you want to indulge in My advice is to take a ferry or speed boat & sign-up for a couple of activities… …this will cost you between THB 600 & THB 800 as compared to THB 2000 of tour package.
Also, don’t forget to bargain here.
.
.
For banana-ride, I negotiated and brought down the price to THB 50 from THB 400 (YES, IT’S TRUE) So, brush-up your bargaining skills 😉 Today, the weather here is extremely hot and humid.
Hence, I’ve bought a milkshake for myself.
This is made of strawberry, banana, kiwi, and cream and it tastes absolutely refreshing.
You can find a lot of fruit vendors selling fruit-glass, juice, milkshake, and smoothie here… And per glass will cost you THB 30 (usually fixed rate) You can hire a tuk-tuk to hop from one beach to the other (THB 20-40) Or you can rent a two-wheeler (THB 200-300) Tip: Bargaining is open for big tour groups (yay) Coral Island is home to many beaches So, you can select any of them depending on your tastes & preferences.
Some of them are famous for partying, some for recreational activities while some for food and other things.
You can ask the locals (around jetty & market area); They will guide you I am headed to a view-point which is on top of a small peak.
And the view from here is FANTASTIC.
You can see an endless expansion of the blue ocean from here… This island reminds me so much of Neil Islands, Andamans.
You can chill in shacks but again, the seats are not free.
However, you can just pay THB 50-100 and.
.
.
the seat will be yours for an entire day.
(No time restrictions) I just got to know an interesting fact about the temples here… Usually, we offer some sweet to God.
Something that we eat.
But here, people offer Fanta.
Red Fanta to be specific.
I find it pretty strange.
What do you guys think about it? After chilling by the beach, I’ve now come to the main market.
There is this beautiful temple just 2 mins away from the jetty.
Amidst the chaos of the Coral island, you can spend some peaceful time here.
Now, it’s time to go back to Pattaya.
I’ve reached Pattaya during the golden-hours which means I’ll get to see the sunset.
(yippie) You can also go on top of this small peak for a better view… …but I am too tired for that.
Therefore, I am going to wait here and enjoy the ocean and the sunset.
As I told you earlier, the walking street looked like a ghost town in the morning… …but now shops, pubs, clubs, & restaurants are ready to light-up and take on the night.
I was really hungry; Therefore, I went to this Indian restaurant called ‘Ali-baba’.
This place was recommended by my parents and some other Indian tourists… So, I thought, ‘why not give it a shot?!’ The ambiance of this place did full justice to the name.
The food was also pretty decent.
I had ordered ‘Chicken Biryani’ and ‘Fresh Lime Soda’.
Now, this wasn’t the best biriyani I ever had but it was pretty good as compared to… Indian food in other restaurants outside India.
Vegetarians also have a lot of options here… The vibe was good.
Also, this was the only Indian restaurant with lots of customers.
All other Indian restaurants in that area were practically empty.
The location is mentioned in the description box.
I will definitely recommend this place.
So, I wanted to end this video on a sweet note… Hence, I got myself strawberry-flavored KitKat.
I’ve never tasted anything like this before; let’s try and see how it is… Argh….
The outer layer tastes like regular KitKat but the inside layer tastes like cough-syrup (yuck) It’s not that great… Well, I didn’t ‘enjoy’ this chocolate but I hope you ‘enjoyed’ my video 😉 If yes, then hit that like button, subscribe to my channel and share this video with everyone… In my next vlog, I am going to be heading back to Bangkok, so do SUBSCRIBE for more content.
I am going to see you next time.
.
.
until then, take care and have fun.
