hi guys, I am Mansoureh, and Bruno is behind the Camera Usually, we post travel videos and travel documentaries on our YouTube channel, but today, in this video we are going to share what cameras and equipment we use to record our travel videos most likely when you hear gear andequipment you think that you should spend a lot of money to be able to goout and shoot but that's not true Do you have a smartphone? you can just start with your phone.
We use different gear overtime and gradually we upgraded ourgear and equipment but to be honest if you have just a smartphone you can goout and shoot and nothing can stop you using your phone can be even moreconvenient when you are travelling and moving from a place to another placethese clips are part of a short film we made for three UK and were all shot onan iPhone.
The entire video was filmed on that phone Sony a6500 Our main camera is a Sony a5600 Actually, this video also is recorded by that camera We chose it at the time because it was smaller and lighter than most competitors So perfect for travelingIt also supports shooting in 4k and the autofocus looks amazing which is an important factor for capturing travel content while moving from place to place without having to throw away shots because they are out of focus.
Most of my photos on Instagram also are shot by this camera We have three lenses zoom lens which we used by default a prime lens mostly for portrait shots anda wide lens to shoot indoors or in tight spaces This camera is not perfect and has some disadvantages.
The screen doesn't flip outit's annoying if you're vlogging but usually, because we travel together andBruno is filming me that's not a problem for me The other disadvantage of this camera is this camera overheat easily which is not a big deal when you are onthe road and capture short clips but it can be annoying when you want to recordthe longer video talking on a camera like this video Sony RX100 V The other camera we use is this one, Sony RX100 V It is a compact camera so it's much smaller and also it has a flip-out screen whichis good for vlogging.
It can shoot in 4k and it shares the same colour profiles asour main camera so it makes it easier to mix shots from the two different camerasand they usually colour match quite nicely There is no input for an external microphone and since is a compact camera, you can't change lenses but it is very light and you can easily put it in yourpocket.
This camera has a one-inch sensor the quality of the footage is usuallymore than good enough for a vlog.
We also use this camera with underwater housing and we film underwater while we were scuba diving As you know we are both scuba divers and we are filming underwater Let me know if you have any question about filming underwater.
I am more than happy to answer your questions in another video usually, when we travel together I meanme and Bruno we use both cameras because we can film from different angles butsometimes when I travel alone without Bruno, I prefer to carry only this camerabecause it's easier to carry.
This was the case for me when I travel to MadeiraI had to move around all the time and couldn't carry a big camera withdifferent lenses with me GoPro I'm sure by now you know that we love adventure and outdoor activities when we travel.
for this kind of activities, weuse GoPros.
It is not only easier to carry a GoPro on your cycling adventureor a skiing trip but it is also safer the GoPro won't break as easily as othercameras or lenses if you fall or drop it during your activities.
Actually, GoPro was our main camera when we started vlogging before we bought theSony one and actually it is the easy way to go underwater and film DJI Mavic pro Having a drone when you travel is agreat way to film, especially when you are going to nature you want to fly yourdrone actually is a fun activity.
We all love watching aerial footage.
Flying thedrone also can be fun but it can be complicated because each country hasdifferent restriction and rules and all the time they change the restriction.
It isso hard to follow up Our drone is a good friend of ours but sometimes we have to leave it at home Stabilisation if you want to have a smooth and astable video you might want to try out a camera stabiliser, like a gimbal.
We sometimes use our Zhiyun Crane gimbal with our main camera to take smoother shots.
Of course, it will take up some extra space in your bag so carry it onlyif you really need it.
If you don't have a gimbal, you can take advantage ofyour tripod for smoother planning if you mainly film handheld try not to walktoo fast or if you have to .
.
.
try to use a wide lens The newer GoPros do a pretty amazing job at stabilising your footage so consider that an option if you needsome stable footage Audio The audio of your video is very important you want people to be able to hear you very clearly.
We have been using the rodevideo Mic Pro on top of our Sony a 6500 for improving the audio quality but nowwe also use zoom H1N and it is this one We use it to record some ambient sound and also we put a microphone as you can see in my shirt because it gives us a clearvoice.
We also have a wireless Bluetooth microphone, the name of this microphoneis SabineTek SmartMike+ which we can connect easily to our phone as Isaid that we can go around with our phone sometimes and film easily but we alsowant to have a better audio and if you are far from your phone you don't have aclear audio that's why this microphone it allows me just to clip it in my shirtand walk and film and talk to you.
I will share more in-depth about how we improve our audio in another video Video Editing In the beginning, I used to edit myvideos on Final Cut Pro but right now I'm using Adobe Premiere we don't haveanything against Final Cut actually it's a great piece of softwarebut we found Premiere Pro to work a little better for us.
We also already hada subscription with Adobe to edit our photos using Lightroom and Photoshop so, we simply upgraded to also be able to use Premiere Pro and sometimes evenafter effect.
You can find the link to all of the gear I mentioned in thisvideo in the description.
Feel free to ask me any question you have and alsoShare with me any tips you have in the comment Same as always thanks for watching and see you in the next video.
