It's something Google paysa lot of attention to.
I'm going to break down exactlyhow to optimize your headers what they are, and how to get the most out of these very important tagswhen it comes to SEO, coming up.

Today, we're lookingat the heading tags when it comes to HTML, and especially when it comes to SEO.
What is an h1 tag anyway? The h1 tag is the main headlineyou see on a web page.
It might be a blog post with the main headlineof the blog article formatted in h1, it might be a products pagewhere the product's name or the product or service ishighlighted in h1 as well.
Your main headline on a webpage, whenever you go to a page will usually be an h1 tagif done properly.
It's the main headingfor the focus of the page, and it's really importantwhen it comes to SEO as well.
In terms of how that looks froman HTML web page perspective, this is what an h1 tag looks like.
You'll see there's an opening, you'll see the textgoes in between that, and you'll see there's a closing tag.
That defines the h1 tag on a page.
If you're not too sure abouthow to change this, or optimize this, or tweak it, then speakto your web designer who can tell you where exactlyon the page it is.
If you want to change itto something specifically, they can go aheadand change that for you.
In fact, most website builderslike Wix or Weebly have the H tags highlightedacross their builder so you'd be ableto optimize them yourself as well.
Anyway, why is it soimportant an h1 tag is optimized for SEO purposes? Well, first of all, you need todo your keyword research.
Once you've done yourkeyword research, and if you haven't done it, I've done a ton of videos across the channel thatcould help you do that for SEO.
Once you've done yourkeyword research, you understand the subjector what you're targeting, you can use your h1 tagto optimize your heading towards your chosen keywords.
You need to make sure your primary keyword, the one youreally want your page to focus on is within the h1 tagon your page in the main heading becauseit's a very powerful ranking signal for Google when they lookat the content on your page and they see your main headingit's covering the subjects that you want to rank for.
It's really important.
Oh, by the way, you should onlyever have one h1 tag per page.
It's your main headline.
You don't want to confuse Google and give them multiple majorheadlines across the page.
That is where h2 tags come in.
An h2 tag is a subheading.
You've got your mainheadline h1 tag, and then you've also gotunderneath that a hierarchy of tags going down from that.
You'll have h2, which is a subheading of h1.
h3, which is a subheading of h2 et cetera, et cetera, up to h6.
How else does this tie into SEO? Well, your h2 tag isimportant as well.
Unlike the h1, you can have multiple instances across your page of the h2 tag.
It's written pretty much the same way as an h1 tag, just replacingthe one for the two.
As you'll see on screen here, this is an example of an h2 tag when it comes to HTML.
This is an easy way to do it interms of writing the code.
From an SEO point of view, use the h2 tag to optimize towards further keywordsyou want to target.
When you've doneyour keyword research, again, looking at your other terms, you can reuse the primary keyword in your h2, you can expand your reach of keywords across all of the onesyou've researched previously and try and rank for those byutilizing them in your h2 tags tags as well.
It's one of the ways you cantry and rank for multiple terms across a number of subjects.
It's a good way to give your content proper hierarchy, so whenGoogle looks at your page, it can really understandand really get to know what kind of contentyou're talking about and it means thatit can find the subject you're discussing interms of that keyword within your headlines as well.
Now you know how headings are usedwhen it comes to SEO and how to optimize your headingtags within your content.
Use the h1 tag once, use all the other tags below h1 in the hierarchyas many times as you like.
Make sure you do yourkeyword research and really understandwhich keywords you'd like to target.
When you know that, you can use your headlines to put your keywords intoyour headline in a strategic way to make sure yourank better on search.
There's just one furtherthing I've got to say.
Make sure you don't writeheadlines that are terrible to read and hard to read just becauseyou want to stuff them with keywords.
You've got to be able to write.
You've got to be ableto work your keywords into your headlineeffectively so it reads well while also optimizing the page.
That's the challenge.
It's not easy to do that, but that's the way you're going to get thebest results out of it.
Start writing downheadlines, start testing, putting keywords into it.
Make sure it reads well, because it's very obviousto spot obvious SEO headline.
It just doesn't read well, it just looks likeI'm reading a list of keywords.
make sure you really get this downbecause your content quality is more important thanjust optimizing your headlines.
Google are going to get a betterunderstanding what's on page.
On page SEO is going to matterless and less in the future, so it's really important that youwrite things well in the first place.
There you have it.
Now you understand fully all the heading tags andhow they relate to SEO.
