Today we're gonna tell you our top fivebeginner vlog or travel essentials so stay tuned.

hey guys welcome to Makai'sworld okay hey what's going on so we are usually a Travel Channel travel familywe are travel vloggers we have a family Travel Channel and welike to go out and go on adventures and do all these kind of things so that'swhat we usually make our videos about but a lot of times people ask us what'sin our like what are we travel with what's our gear what do we use whilewe're doing our videos and so today we're going to show you what we use forour travel gear as a beginner vlogger so here we go okay so usually we're givingtravel tips travel hacks mainly down in Costa Rica and then some of our othertravels in Europe in Mexico you can check out some of those videos on aTravel Channel but today we're going to talk about the gear that it takes tomake these videos we are only about one year in on on making this Travel Channelthis travel vlog this YouTube channel but really only taking it seriously forthe past three to four months since we finished our last business project we'vebeen really diving in deep to this so right now we basically just have theessentials just enough to get these videos out and do some editing and keepon running keep on learning until we have a chance to level up so today we'regonna show it to you share with you share with you share with you we'regonna share with you what we're using what's in our bag basically so if you'rejust getting started with blogging or just making travel videos which ismaking videos for your family this is what we use so hopefully it'll help youout when you're making decisions on what the essential gear is and we're not outthere spending thousands and thousands of dollars to the top gear maybe at somepoint but we try to only stick with theessentials until we learn as much as we can from them and then we level up basedon what we feel our needs are so I've got some ideas for things that I wouldlike I would love that I would need I think in the near future but for rightnow this is what we're dealing with so number one a laptop so whatever used towhatever you're using if you have one already start with that there's plentyof editing software out there there's a few free ones but right now the some ofthe main options if you're rolling with the Mac you can just go ahead and diveinto iMovie I used iMovie for years and years because I have always neededto create and use GarageBand and all these different things so I just don'tfind the iMovie because it was there and I was able to make promo and everythingfor our businesses or for our bands or whatever it was at the time but I alsouse Adobe Premiere which seems like it's one as the industry standard and it hasbiggest expandability from what I understand I could be wrong about thatlet me let us know in the comments that that is not true or what you found isbest for you but we can get into that some other time but mainly let's talkabout the travel gear so number one is computer I've been rocking MacBook Proright here this has been a beast okay I've had this for at least five sixyears maybe this went through us having a toddler and I mean literally just likestepping literally cracking the trackpad cracking the top of the screen all thesethings but it's been a powerhouse it's been a horse so I've been using thatit's been great for me I suggest if you want to get into filming editing and youhave the budget for it go ahead and invest in a MacBook Pro it's it's gonnabe helpful especially if you're dealing with like 4k pill and all these kind ofthings in 8k and whatever else is out therenext you're gonna need some power and actually I'm goingneed more power than this pretty soon so I'll probably be leveling up but I'lllet you know as that happens but for now this has been this has been an essentialso number two you're gonna need a camera if you're gonna be filming obviouslycamera is gonna be an essential so we are right now we've been using the GoProHero 7 as you you've seen any of our other videos I always tell you guys thatwe have been using the GoPro Hero 7 black for most of our recording like 90probably 99% of our filming that's because for us it's a all-in-one it'sit's I can it's very portable I literally just stick it in my pocketand if something comes up and I want to record or need to record then I'm therethe stabilization in the in the 7 Series the GoPro Hero 7 black is amazing so youknow you don't have to try with the gimbal and all these kind of things soit makes it very practical for what we've been doing and and what we we liketo do we also live very close to the ocean so that we're always going to thebeach and we're a lot of times we travel to places with the beach or a pool orthings like that and obviously the GoPros are king at that kind of thingokay so obviously if you're gonna be filming you're gonna be capturing videonow out there is a GoPro Hero 8 black which sounds like they've done somechanges and some specs for vlogging in particular so it sounds like a prettygood option I'd love to check it out soon and then there's also the GoPro Maxwhich looks ridiculous I don't even know what it means quite yet so I'm gonnalook into that a bit also and maybe at some point will will level up to thatbut we'll see so anyways we've been rockin the hero 7 black we're gonna puta link to that down description also we're gonna put a link to the two newermodels so you can have a look at those and decided which one is best for youwhen I'm rockin when I'm not filming on the GoPro is my phone and a lot of youthat's a really good option to get started with it's just your phone mostof the phones have the capabilities of shooting at least HD a lot of them 4k Ihave a assets or ASIS I don't know how to sayit but anyways I have the zenfone zenfone 3 or something and what I didwas I did a little research saying what it's the best budget phone for for thebest budget camera phone she's the best video of all these kind of things andthat has actually been awesome for me the only downfall with that it doesshoot 4k the only downfall with that is with the video it has a stabilizationsystem inside of it but with when it does his own stabilization it gets alittle warp II so I had to deactivate it and when you deactivate it that's veryshaky so you have to use some sort of gimbal with it so anyways when we whenwe got the GoPro Hero seven black that kind of took that out of the equationexcept for when I'm doing some filming like this I don't want to show you thecamera I set that and on a tripod and that's no problem one of the main thingsabout the GoPro that I don't like is the fact that the batteries don't last solong so it's always good to have battery backup I bought something off Amazon hereand as it's not GoPro brand but it's worked out for us so far so I have likethree batteries that are always just there and ready if you've got a batterybackup you can actually charge these batteries in your bag while you arefilming with the other one and then you always have a fresh battery ready butit's better to have an extra battery and an extra charger because if you're onthe road and you're in the middle of something I've had it happen a couple oftimes the events halfway over battery's dead what do you doalright so that is to go along with the GoPro extra batteries battery chargercheck so you're going to need storage okay you're shooting 4k I've got I thinka hundred I don't know 128 something like that gig SD card in the GoPro rightnow and you wouldn't believe how fast that goes with shooting 4k so if you'reon the road and you don't have access to a whole bunchof SD cards then you're going to need some sort of backup so we do acombination just because sometimes I don't have time to go and dumpeverything on to the external hard drive I carry a case that we fill up with ourSD cards and I just got an SD card for Christmas and an extra one thank you Timand Rachel so I'll have one ready if I need one and I can always just like popthat out of the GoPro throw into the next one and put that in the storagecase here and then when I get time to dump I can dump and go through thefootage so that's always good to have a couple different options but the mainthing I use is a external hard drive and I actually have a couple of them samething just because I tend to I don't like to spend a lot at a time especiallywhen I'm not making a lot at the time so anyways I instead of buying like a fiveor whatever I don't even know how many terabytes you can get up to I did it Ithink it's two terabyte LaCie and that goes pretty fast also its LaCierugged this is what I've been using it's great I've got a couple of them and I'vejust basically used one for you know one of my projects another one for the restof the projects and family videos and all those kind of things but mysuggestion to you is to go ahead and get the whatever size you need you think youneed go ahead and get the next size up and then just organize within that harddrive so you're not lugging around to and plugging and unplugging and allthese kind of things so that's my suggestion of you but storage numberthree storage next on my list is headphones alright I am using the Aventree I think it's like ANC032 something like that but I'm using thesethese are bluetooth wireless noise cancelling headphones they are the bestof the budget which is what I do for pretty mucheverything right now because like I said we've just been kind of getting startedso I don't like to drop a whole bunch of money on something and find out that Idon't even like it so these are okay they're they're solid fornoise-canceling they give a good even sound they're not like super superdynamic but they definitely do the job and they're definitely helpful on aplane and things like that kind of cancel out some sound and get intoediting but what I always suggest is to have wired and wireless headphones sothese have an option of having being wired at the same time for one you canuse a little plane to plug into the if they're hat films or whatever you wantto watch something on the plane you can do that but also what I found with whenI'm doing editing the Bluetooth it kind of throws everything off there might bea slight delay granted I'm sure if I had the top-of-the-line Bluetooth headphonesthat might not happen as much but there'll be a lag or when I'm editing itfreezes up the editing process a bit and slows things down so I always edit withthe audio cable so I suggest a nice pair of noise-isolating headphonesnoise-cancelling headphones but I would like I think that you should go with thewired or wireless option well like I said before we'll put links to all thesethings down below in the description you go through and kind of choose what worksbest for you and what doesn't work for you and let's get into number five whichis a tripod and once again with the tripod the main tripod that we're usingit is a budget tripod but it works for now and I will try to put that link inthe description also but whatever you decide to go with you are gonna mostlikely want to have a tripod so that you don't have to you know do the whole handthing that's that's definitely a style that I've done myself and that I'm notopposed to but it's also nice to have a tripod set up especially if you're doingyou know filming or night photography or something like that where you want toget a good angle with very little to no movement so I've gotthe main tripod there and that wasn't going to carry on and you can stuff itin the pocket of the backpack and I also have just a little guy here that I canliterally have with me at all times and I can just like set it up I need to getjust some sort of shadow or something something little or something from alower perspective or I can set it on the tree stump or one of those kind ofthings it's good to have a little guy there with you that you can set up andthis is just the little phone phone adapter so if I'm filling with the phoneor I can swivel on the GoPro adapter and use that so those are the main thingsthat I'm using and the one other thing that a little bonus that I guess you'reprobably gonna need is and we can get into this later because I might level upon that or switch that up pretty soon but you're gonna need something to putit in and we'll get into this on a different episode but what I've beenusing is the Marsbro Marsbro almost looks like Marlboro but Marsbrobackpack it's made specifically for you know for traveling with equipment Ihaven't a different one before this I loved it and when I went to reorder itbecause somebody decided that they wanted my whole backpack more than I didand took it out of our car at the beach one of our traveling trips witheverything in it just getting back from that anyways I have a different oneloved it I'll put a link to that one down there this one's okay it just lacksa little bit of space but it's definitely helpful it's got the USBcharging cable and here stuff everything in there I like it but there's there'ssome better options out there so look into that and we'll maybe do one ofthose specials later as we're leveling up the backpack so anyways that is whatwe have for you today for the top five essential travel gear especially for thebig beginner vlogger just getting started don't have a lot of cash or if you dohave a lot of cash and you're just cheap you can start with this and then as youfigure out what you're gonna need for your niche for for just what you likebetter then you can go from there do yourresearch look at as many videos like this as possible before making thedecisions but at the same time make a nice educated decision but just go forit so whatever you have use it and just start and just get in there and learnand you go from there okay so get it going get out there get a few thingsborrow a couple things just don't break them and get this thing going so anywaysthis is our
